How the game changes
- Unlock jokers, vouchers, booster packs and consumables through Archipelago; optional bundles group unlocks together.
- Boss-blind checks depend on deck, ante and stake. Shop purchases and AP consumables offer additional checks.
- Choose goals based on deck victories, antes, unlocked jokers or stake-specific achievements.
- Stakes can follow vanilla order, a shuffled order or received items, globally or per deck.
- Permanent starting bonuses can help future runs, while configurable traps affect hands, money and jokers.
Before you start
- Steam edition only. Install Lovely and Steamodded, then the matching BalatroAP files and APWorld; the latest package includes its client library.
- Connect from the Archipelago profile and back up existing saves. Special slot-name characters may require editing APSettings.json as documented.
- Start with at least one deck: a public report describes a progression deadlock when no starting deck is available. Avoid custom planet/spectral bundles while their generation failure report remains unresolved.
- The maintainer still acknowledges possible crashes. Do not assume large gameplay-overhaul mods such as Pokermon are compatible.
- Linux/Proton requires the documented version.dll override. The bundled Mac library is ARM-only according to an Intel Mac failure report, so broad macOS support is not advertised here.
- A recent report describes the connection box rejecting the digit zero. This and other open reports are not marked resolved by the January release.
