Burger Shop 2Archipelago randomizer mod

Build your breakfast, lunch and dinner menus through multiworld deliveries. Keys open new restaurant chapters, special customers need their own received items, and extra recipes raise the pressure while helpful upgrades ease service.

How the game changes

  • One hundred twenty Story Mode levels provide checks. Five stars are required by default; the option can accept any completion instead. Victory requires all three final levels, 118, 119 and 120, not just the last one.
  • The first fifteen levels need no chapter key. Seven Progressive Burger Shop 2 items each open another block of fifteen. Individual levels can also require customer-specific items, including within an already-open chapter.
  • Dog Biscuit, Shirt and Menu enable service for the Dog Lover, Shirtless Guy and Old Chap. When customer randomization is enabled, their logical requirements follow the actual generated customer placement rather than a fixed list of levels.
  • Breakfast sandwiches, cereals, drinks, lunch combinations, dinner plates, pasta, pizza and desserts are received items. Most recipes are traps because they add ordering complexity; they are not all progression upgrades.
  • Workstation, BurgerBot, Lollipops and Lollipop, Speed, Happy, Money, Freeze and Cone powerups provide assistance. Lollipops start unlocked by default, while BurgerBot is optional starting help.
  • Starter Recipes, off by default, add eight early local recipe rewards after a qualifying level completion: side, soda, ice cream, breakfast drink, cereal, soup, toasted item and dinner meat. Bonus Recipes are enabled by default and replace filler with more combinations.
  • Choose vanilla customers, shuffled groups or randomized group counts. Queue size can stay vanilla or be fixed. Level one is protected from customers requiring unavailable special items so it remains a starting point.
  • Already-checked levels are shown as five-star completions when their rewards have been sent. The three finale levels are excluded and must still be completed. Optional Universal Tracker reconstructs the generated customer gates from slot data.
Explore game mechanics

Before you start

  • Use Windows, the Steam edition and Archipelago 0.6.7 or newer. Install burger_shop_2.apworld plus Burger_Shop_2_Archipelago.zip from release 0.3.2, not the similarly named first-game packages.
  • Copy the archipelago and properties folders into the game directory. Launch and close the game once to initialize its save directory, connect Burger Shop 2 Client, then launch the game and select the automatically created Archipelago profile.
  • The client keeps one managed Archipelago profile, not a library of parallel local campaigns. Changing room or slot replaces that profile; make an external backup of both its save and .ap sidecar first. Do not rename an ordinary profile to Archipelago.
  • The server's room identity is part of save binding. Deleting the AP server save creates a new session identity and causes the client to reset its profile; preserving the seed alone does not preserve that binding.
  • When the client says level data changed or the profile belongs to an older session, close and relaunch the game. Progress made before the required restart is deliberately not tracked.
  • Recipes are refreshed on level entry, so a newly received recipe may require finishing the current level or returning to the map. Powerups and some customer tools use live updates instead.
  • The final goal's customer-item requirements depend on the generated cast. Seven keys alone are not sufficient when the final three levels contain customers requiring Dog Biscuit, Shirt or Menu.
  • More than four customer slots creates a large late-game difficulty increase. Five-star play without starting Lollipops is also much harder. A lower-pressure setup keeps vanilla queues, starts BurgerBot or accepts ordinary level completions.
  • Version 0.3.1 fixes Ninja-order crashes and alien dinner ranch handling; 0.3.2 adds managed saves and protects the randomized opening level. Keep the paired current packages and back up saves before installing. No DeathLink, native co-op or Linux route is documented.
