How the game changes

  • Eggs and shuffled ability rewards provide checks. Shroomsanity is enabled by default, adding mushroom pickups; optional Eventsanity adds events such as healing the Giant.
  • The Sage's abilities are shuffled by default. High Jump, climbing, carrying, sprinting, rolling and swimming can each be randomized separately, but these extra basic-movement settings default off.
  • Tail can split into grounded and aerial abilities. Double Jump is optional, while Flight is excluded by default; the old README's blanket replacement description does not reflect all current settings.
  • Gratitude can stay attached to feeding your hatched siblings, be shuffled, or split into separate gratitude and Sun Cavern teleport items.
  • Carryablesanity moves temporary objects into the item pool. Kind mode keeps routes short; Mean mode can require carrying an object through several areas to its destination.
  • Choose among twenty-six starting areas, including the default Sun Cavern. Some constrained starts grant extra opening items. Entrance randomization is optional.
  • Beginner, Intermediate and Hard logic are separate from individual movement-tech settings. Super Bounce, Super Bubble Jump and Air Swim can be disabled, enabled or shuffled as unlocks.
  • The world targets the Gallery finale's endgame region. DeathLink is optional; Return to Start, shorter dialogue and actionable cutscenes help with repeated exploration.

Before you start

  • Use APWorld Beta 1.10.3 and game mod Beta 1.10.1 from their separate repositories. Their latest published dates are June 2025 and August 2024 respectively; this is a documented beta, not a recently verified stable release.
  • Install BepInEx 5 for the Windows game, then extract Archipelago.zip into BepInEx/plugins so its Archipelago folder remains intact. The main menu should show Connect instead of File Select.
  • The in-game client takes the room address, port and slot name. The inspected login does not provide a password argument, so password-protected room support is not established; confirm the intended host configuration before generating.
  • Back up existing saves before installation. The mod loads a special game slot and restores checked locations from the server; it does not use the normal vanilla file-selection flow.
  • Entrance randomization and Mean Carryablesanity force Archipelago accessibility to Minimal. This ensures the required goal path rather than promising every optional check is reachable.
  • For a conservative first run, use Sun Cavern, Beginner logic, vanilla entrances and no advanced movement techniques. Enabling a technique tells the generator you can perform it; it is not merely a cosmetic permission.
  • Checkpoints are removed. If swimming is shuffled, touching water without the received ability is fatal. Carrying items and wearing Jester Boots are also restricted unless the corresponding permissive option is enabled.
  • Windows is the documented installation route. Linux, Proton and Steam Deck integration support are not verified here. Keep the client connected; complete offline synchronization and compatibility with every newer game or Archipelago update are not established.
