How the game changes

  • Checks: The source defines 360 numbered chest locations. Opening a chest sends its check; Chest 1 always starts unlocked. The shipped template creates just one chest, so only Chest 1 is active by default.
  • Items: Each locked chest receives a distinct numbered key, while every initially unlocked chest gets an “Item That Does Nothing” filler. The default creates one filler and no keys.
  • Goal: Choose how many chests should count toward completion, capped to the configured total. The source marks completion true whenever no chest is locked, so the default zero-lock setup does not wait for the requested chest count.
  • Options: Set the chest total from 1 to 360, lock up to the total minus one, and choose a required count from 0 to 360. The World keeps at least one chest unlocked.
  • Client: A browser page displays locked, unlocked and opened chests and reports a check when an unlocked chest is clicked. The first release documents a visual overlap issue for !release animations when animations are enabled.

Before you start

  • The v0.3.0 release is explicitly marked beta and says it had only been tested by the author. The maintainer reports overlapping or cropped item animations after !release when animations are enabled.
  • The published YAML template requires Archipelago 0.6.7. The pinned README still says there are no releases or public APWorlds, while the v0.3.0 GitHub release provides both an APWorld and YAML; follow the release page and hosted client for this build.
  • Static review found that the World’s intended self-key placement filter compares the item name with the literal text “Key {i}”, not a chest-specific key name. This may fail to exclude a chest’s matching key; no seed was generated to determine whether this occurs in practice.
  • The browser client stores the host, slot name and room password in localStorage. Keep the browser profile private, especially on a shared device.
  • The default template selects one chest and zero locked chests. Because the World completion condition is unconditional when the locked count is zero, this setup can be marked complete before Chest 1 is opened. No generator or browser session was run by Panludia.
