How the game changes
- Choose one of four goals: lower the wall, defeat Core Commander, defeat S.A.H.A.B.A.R, or defeat every boss. The selected goal determines which progression stages enter the world.
- Enable check families for resources, equipment, fish, pets, enemies, merchants, locked chests, skills and more. The reviewed catalog contains up to 1,182 checks; each room uses its selected subset.
- Receive progressive crafting-station licenses, equipment, skill rewards and weighted caches. Optional equipment rewards include the new scepters and saddles; Veil Crux has its own legendary cache.
- Collect physical Archipelago rewards from a dedicated inventory at the Core, or configure direct delivery. Skill experience, early repair access and progression placement have separate options.
- Use the optional PopTracker pack with fallback icons. The Windows texture helper can generate game icons locally from your installed copy. DeathLink is optional.
Before you start
- This listing reviews prerelease 1.2.0-rc.2 for Core Keeper 1.3.0.4, Steam build 25625027, with Archipelago 0.6.7 or newer. Windows is the documented setup reviewed here; Linux and other editions are not verified.
- Install the matching mod ZIP manually from the linked client release into CoreKeeper_Data/StreamingAssets/Mods. The maintainer says the mod.io stable release was not updated for this prerelease. Remove or disable older duplicate copies and keep the APWorld, mod and tracker versions aligned.
- Generate a new room to use the added checks. Back up saves and use a dedicated character for testing; the reviewed code does not establish complete isolation or reliable recovery when switching rooms or restoring saves.
- Some tracker access hints differ from the World rules, and equipment option descriptions do not fully match how a constrained reward pool is selected. Treat the tracker as guidance rather than proof that a check is reachable.
- Connection recovery exists, but static review found gaps around checks made before login and item delivery interrupted by saving, reconnecting or changing game state. A completed multiworld playthrough was not independently verified.
- The optional texture helper requests administrator access and has unresolved file-handling and dependency-notice evidence. The texture-free tracker works without that helper.
- The native connection form does not preserve an explicitly entered secure scheme, and password storage is not protected by the integration. Connection confidentiality is not established by this review.
- DeathLink has unresolved state-restoration cases across interruptions. Leave it disabled if you do not want shared deaths during testing.
