How the game changes

  • Checks: race and cup victories, optional cumulative CC wins, puzzle pickups, character/kart wins, hat/spoiler rewards, first bonus acquisitions, time-trial medals and optional lap-performance checks.
  • Unlocks: individual courses, cups or both, optional progressive cups, racers, karts, hats, spoilers and item-box bonuses. A starting course/cup, racer and kart keep the initial race accessible.
  • Goals: win four Grand Prix cups, win all sixteen races, earn the selected medal on sixteen time trials, or receive the configured puzzle-piece threshold and then win a race. Default goal is all races; time-trial checks are off by default.
  • Options: puzzle density/threshold, CC requirement, lap count and Lapsanity, racer/kart stat randomization, item-box shuffle, Springs Only, CPU item behavior and Item Mania. Combined cup/course shuffle disables progressive cups.
  • Feedback: course/cup win and equipment status, cumulative CC/medal/lap displays, character/kart win markers and an Archipelago item gallery. Local wins are tracked separately from server collect status.
  • Release 1.1.0: integrated title-screen connection form and main-thread reconnect prompts, new credited artwork and more cup progress displays. Optional DeathLink and trap handlers are present; normal generated filler currently excludes traps.

Before you start

  • Use the Steam game on Windows, BepInExPack 5.4.2100 and the paired 1.1.0 APWorld/mod with Archipelago 0.6.7+. The mod README recommends importing the release ZIP into an r2modman profile. Older instructions still describe an F1 window and a plugins subfolder; this release uses the title-screen connection menu and its ZIP is flat.
  • Keep the game connected while playing. Version 1.1.0 offers a reconnect prompt and restores server item/check state, but unique pickups and first item acquisitions do not have a durable offline journal. This review does not establish that every check survives a disconnection.
  • Sneak-a-Peak puzzle piece 3 is declared to need Lasagna, while the reviewed World rule still requires Spring. Platinum time trials also leave required loadouts outside logic. Avoid treating these optional configurations as fully represented by the model.
  • The trap-percentage option is present in slot data, but normal filler generation does not add traps in the reviewed World. The mod implements trap handlers; changing that percentage alone does not establish a trap-filled generated pool.
  • Leave the local lap-count override at its default when using Lapsanity: changing it can disagree with the checks generated for the seed. Puzzle Piece Hunt displays the received-piece threshold and requires a subsequent race win to trigger the goal check.
  • Local goal/filler state is saved without atomic replacement, and older seed-only time-trial records are merged without slot ownership. Keep backups and use the intended seed/slot; interruption-safe state and exact-once consumable delivery are not established.
  • The mod remembers the room password in a plaintext local connection file. Its network library can fall back from WSS to WS for a host without a scheme; use an explicit wss:// address when the room supports it to keep the transport choice explicit.
  • The repositories include MIT code licences, but the inspected packages omit a complete set of licence notices. The release credits new artwork; separate provenance for every bundled graphic remains undocumented in the reviewed evidence. No full game or DLC package was identified.
  • The packaged World matches its identified source after line-ending normalization; the distributed plugin was inspected by managed decompilation, including its embedded artwork. No game-specific automated test suite was supplied in the examined sources, and Panludia did not run this build or claim a completed multiworld.
