How the game changes
- Checks: story missions, selected tags, snapshots, horseshoes, oysters and now stunt jumps; Ammu-Nation purchases, schools, street races, stadium and bike challenges, courier work, train and gang-territory milestones. Family sliders and switches define the included scope.
- Items: Progressive Mission branches, activity/collectible unlocks, weapons, armor, repairs and skills, with configurable ordinary traps. The World/native comparison found matching assignments for all 17 mission branches.
- Goals: The Green Sabre, Are You Going to San Fierro?, Yay Ka-Boom-Boom, A Home in the Hills, End of the Line, or the integration's 100-percent objective. Choose Los Santos, Badlands, San Fierro or Las Venturas as the start; earlier missions are removed and an invalid start/goal order is rejected.
- Version 0.9.0: stunt-jump checks, a Wang Cars unlock available earlier, courier unlock adjustments, collectible height indicators, side-activity off switches and fixes to school/quarry/race/snapshot paths. These changes are source/release evidence, without an in-game verification claim.
- Player guidance: mission start markers show locked branches, Ammu-Nation displays item contents, collectible radar/map markers can be toggled with F8, and client locate commands identify individual collectibles. An optional Universal Tracker tab is included.
- Options: tune collectible and activity coverage, starting unlocks, goal and trap proportion; opt into DeathLink if desired. Effects use game-state deferral and bounded/restorable handlers rather than deleting the campaign.
- Progress: later starts use the credited supplied saves; room-derived save folders and autosave slot 8 retain local state. Automatic reconnection supports live recovery, with separate persistence limits for unique checks and goal transmission.
Before you start
- The evaluated pair is gta_sa.apworld and SanAndreasAP-v0.9.0.zip from stable v0.9.0, published September 23, 2026. A newer v1.0.0-beta was published October 5; only its release metadata was checked here, and these badges do not evaluate that beta.
- Use classic Windows San Andreas 1.0; the native build specifically targets 1.0 US. Definitive Edition compatibility is not established. Install an ASI loader and Archipelago 0.6.7+, install the matching World, extract the mod into scripts, export a YAML with Options Creator and open GTA SA Client before launching the game. CLEO is optional; CLEO 4 or older is incompatible, while the author documents testing CLEO 5.4.0.
- Back up both game saves and their _ap.dat companions. The mod autosaves to slot 8 and uses a seed-and-slot-derived folder under GTA San Andreas User Files/archipelago. The game save and AP sidecar are separate writes without an atomic recovery mechanism.
- Keep the game and GTA SA Client running while reconnecting. Ordinary reconnects replay items, configuration and retained checks, but native pending reports are memory-only: restarting after a disconnected one-time check can lose its pending report. Victory retry exists within the live AP client, without a durable pending-victory record across client/game restart.
- The supplied starting-point files are credited user saves, not an identified full-game or DLC distribution. The reviewed native source lacks an explicit licence and the packages do not supply a complete notice/permission inventory for all bundled material. This is a documentation gap, without a legal infringement determination.
- Use a verified wss room address where available and avoid credentials embedded in the address: the inherited client defaults an unschemed address to ws and logs the full supplied URL. The game-to-client connection is loopback.
- The README still describes the mod as unstable and records a misaligned Caligula mission counter and autosave titles truncated around 22 characters. A counter-display issue alone is not treated as proof that mission logic is wrong.
- All 26 production World files match the fork tag after allowing line-ending differences; the package adds tests and manifest packaging fields. Forty supplied test files contain 331 test methods and were inspected without running them. Native PE metadata/imports were inspected, but a complete native binary-to-source match, build and game session were not established.
