A native integration for the PC HD Remaster that connects chest pickups, story events and map unlocks to Archipelago. It includes a dedicated client, an in-game stash and optional character-unlock progression.

How the game changes

Checks: 793 chest pickups, 38 story events and 22 paired area-lockout events, for 853 unique source-defined checks. The default options include Gold, Soldier's Graveyard, Castle of Dreams and Tower of Temptation.
Items: 245 chest-item definitions, 16 cumulative map keys and seven optional character unlocks. The default Unlocks party mode starts with Justin and places the other characters as useful items; the standard pool contains 830 items, including 14 filler copies.
Goals: Reach the story's final completion event, represented by Victory and gated through the map-key progression.
Options: Optional dungeons and gold checks, magic/weapon/level XP multipliers, vanilla or runtime Redux balance, and vanilla, roulette or unlock-based party selection. No DeathLink option appears in the reviewed option set.

Before you start

Requires Grandia HD Remaster on Steam for Windows. Install grandia.apworld and launch Grandia Client from Archipelago; the package embeds a 32-bit DLL that the client injects into grandia.exe. BepInEx is not used. The setup guide documents connecting before loading a save and waiting for SYNC.
The tagged repository includes Win32 client source and an APWorld packaging script; the release package bundles the built 32-bit DLL and runtime overlays. Most packaged native files have byte-identical same-name counterparts in the tagged archive, but the DLL was not rebuilt or independently audited for this review. Story progression and area-lockout triggers have not been tested in a campaign. For Redux, the maintainer setup says to use vanilla game files and not install a separate Redux file pack. Windows native 32-bit injection is documented; Linux or console support is not established.
Keep the client, game and APWorld versions paired; compatibility with other combinations is not established in the reviewed sources.
