Hades 2 (Rogue)Archipelago randomizer mod

A Hades II multiworld built around repeated runs through selected routes, now including Dream. Checks can follow accumulated points, room depth, weapons or aspects, with optional enemy, NPC and helper encounters. Received items rebuild combat abilities and open progression.

How the game changes

  • Checks: Choose score, room-depth, per-weapon or per-aspect progression, with shared or separate route pools. Optional encounters and enemy species add further checks; completed bosses can release the remaining checks in their route.
  • Items: Unlock weapons, aspects, arcana, grasp, familiars, gods and helpers; open routes and receive run resources. Vow-removal items can gradually ease a configured starting challenge.
  • Goals: Select Underworld, Surface, Dream and optionally Nightmare, with all-selected or any-selected completion, repeated wins and a shared weapon-variety requirement. Zagreus can be an additional goal where his encounter is available.
  • Version 0.10.0 expands Dream and shared-pool handling, normalizes incompatible route and weapon selections, and adds saved pending checks and victory reports plus safer timing for incoming items. These code changes do not constitute a completed playtest.

Before you start

  • Install Hades2Rogue.apworld 0.10.0 in Archipelago 0.6.4 or later, then restart the launcher. In a dedicated Hades II r2modman profile, install Hades2RogueArchipelago 0.10.0 with its dependencies. Connect the Hades 2 Rogue Client to the intended room and slot before launching the modded game. Start with a new save and preserve backups of existing saves.
  • Zagreus Journey is optional, not a required download. Enable it and the Nightmare route only after installing that mod in the same profile and providing your own Hades I installation; configure its path if Hades I is installed elsewhere.
  • The reviewed manifest pins nine dependencies, including Hell2Modding 1.0.112 and DreamDiveTweaks 1.13.2. Epic Games Launcher support remains untested. Other game, loader, dependency and operating-system combinations have not been verified by this review.
  • The mod replaces normal metaprogression, including cauldron, planting and prophecy systems. Expect repeated runs; avoid maximum starting vows unless comfortable with that challenge. Some optional encounter and shuffle combinations still lack complete verification.
  • DeathLink is enabled by default in this APWorld. Review its damage-percentage and outbound-death settings before generating the room, or disable it if you do not want deaths shared with other players.
  • Keep each save dedicated to one room and slot. The mod checks the seed name but does not separately bind the save to the team and slot; a different seed automatically resets its AP state. Its startup-settings cache is shared across saves in the mod profile.
  • Pending queues improve recovery during ordinary disconnects, but a local send is not a durable server acknowledgement. Interrupted handoffs can still lose checks or a victory report, and an item-application failure partway through a batch can replay earlier effects. Preserve save backups and confirm important progress in the client.
  • The exact APWorld and Thunderstore package were inspected, and all mod files match the nested source archive at the release commit. No game session or complete dependency-stack test was performed. The repository has a GPLv3 licence, while the delivered archives lack complete licence and provenance documentation.
