The Archipelago 0.6.7 core World defines 1,014 addressed locations across five episodes. Default settings select Episodes 1–3 and leave Check Sanity off, producing 502 checks: 27 level exits with fixed completion events and 475 ordinary randomized item slots. Check Sanity adds 57 nearby redundant checks to this default episode set. Episodes 4 and 5 each add nine maps. The core item rules precollect three starting maps and fill the remaining pool with weapon access, keys, map scrolls, equipment, powerups and filler. Two one-attempt progression checks are in Episode 4, which is off by default. Counts follow pinned source tables and generation code; no seed or Heretic session was run.

Playing with others
A solo Heretic campaign per slot exchanges items in live or asynchronous Archipelago rooms. The integration is not advertised here as native shared-map co-op.
Known scope and limitations
- Steam's current purchase is Heretic + Hexen. This entry covers original Heretic only, not Hexen or every included campaign; artwork and review totals describe the collection.
- Use APDoom 2.0 with original DOS HERETIC.WAD data. Its launcher detects supported Steam installations; remastered WAD support is not guaranteed.
- The core APWorld works with the stable client. Optional beta APWorlds add other features and should not be confused with the core options described here.
- Old guides still link unsupported APDoom 1.2.0. Install the current 64-bit build into a fresh directory and back up prior saves before migration.
- Optional death-reset puzzle logic and Pro tricks are intended for knowledgeable players. Increasing Check Sanity can substantially increase the amount of collection.
- Native Linux AppImage and Steam Deck support are explicitly documented alongside Windows. Support for arbitrary custom mods or same-map co-op is not established.
