COMMUNITY INTEGRATION

holo8Archipelago randomizer mod

Spot anomalies in an endlessly looping office while other worlds unlock the characters who can appear. Correct detections send checks; two special items finally allow the elevator to take you toward the exit.

How the game changes

  • Encountering an anomaly and correctly identifying it sends a check. A wrong choice does not. Browsing the game's Anomaly List is not a shortcut to earning checks.
  • Talent mode, the default, gives individual performers their own unlock items. Generation mode groups performers together, opening more anomalies per received item but leaving more filler in the pool.
  • Anomalies involving the default Ayame, Suisei and Marine characters already present in the office remain available initially. Other anomalies require their associated talent or generation items.
  • Normal anomalies are the default. Everyday anomalies or a mixture of both are optional. Hard-to-spot anomalies are separately optional and off by default.
  • The no-anomaly chance defaults to twenty percent and the chance of repeating an already checked anomaly defaults to zero. Both can be adjusted, while the game's built-in two-floor failsafe is retained.
  • Receive Mikodanye and Taranchama before escaping the office to finish the slot. Until both arrive, the floor indicator is turned into an infinity symbol and elevator progress is held back.
  • Version 0.3.0 adds optional interaction checks for special anomalies such as Menya Botan and AZKi's Ice Cream Bar. This is separate from simply recognizing an anomaly and is disabled by default.
  • Chill Video and Memory Video items unlock bonus videos, with Nothing filling surplus spaces. Optional extra talent-name filler does not create new anomalies for characters absent from the game.
  • DeathLink can send anomaly deaths to other participating worlds and return you to Floor 8 when a remote death arrives during play. A separate option also counts choosing the wrong elevator.

Before you start

  • This is an explicitly alpha release, not a stable integration. Use the paired 0.3.0-alpha patch archive and APWorld; its manifest requires Archipelago 0.6.3 or newer.
  • The documented installation is Windows x64 with BepInEx 5.4.23.x. Install the patch's plugins into BepInEx and launch once to generate configuration. No verified Linux, Proton or native co-op route is established by the maintained guide.
  • Install holo8.apworld in Archipelago separately, generate your options and room, then enter its address, exact slot name and optional password in BepInEx/config/ArchipelagoHolo8.cfg. Restart the game to connect automatically.
  • There is no finished in-game connection interface or item notification panel. The maintainer recommends keeping Archipelago's Text Client alongside the game to see deliveries and room messages; that text window does not replace the game mod.
  • The maintainer reports rare generation failures with Everyday mode. Normal mode with hard and interactive anomalies disabled is the more conservative first-run configuration. Do not assume every optional combination has equal validation.
  • Keep the game connected and return to the same room and slot when resuming. Seen anomalies are stored per slot on the AP server. The reviewed client does not establish reliable offline play or a seamless reconnect interface.
  • Items are synchronized on connection and floor transitions as well as through the receive handler. A newly received unlock may not change the floor already being shown. Remote DeathLink is ignored when the game is not actively in its play state.
  • The local configuration can contain the room password. Keep it private, back up ordinary saves and check logs before sharing diagnostics. This directory listing does not install or manage the mod for you.
  • Public independent playtest feedback is limited. Current Steam-build compatibility, long sessions and optional modes have not been independently reproduced by Panludia.
