Little Witch NobetaArchipelago randomizer mod

Explore the castle with magic, double jump and access to key encounters supplied by the multiworld. Optional gate, barrier and trial items can turn familiar routes into a different progression puzzle.

How the game changes

  • Magic, bag upgrades and consumable rewards are shuffled through the game's item locations. Optional lore checks and randomized boss-related rewards expand the journey.
  • Magic normally progresses through repeated spell items. Condensed Magic instead makes one book grant its configured maximum level, while Max Magic Level can reduce that cap from five down to one.
  • Wind supplies double jump and is not granted at the start by default. Starting without Arcane, starting with Mana Absorption and more permissive movement logic are separate choices.
  • Four goals culminate in defeating Nonota: the ordinary final-boss route, Magic Master, Boss Hunt or Lore Keeper. The latter three add collection requirements before the final encounter.
  • Boss Souls can gate whether a fight starts. Boss Tokens are a separate collection system and can themselves be randomized for the boss-hunt requirement; receiving a soul is not the same as defeating that boss.
  • Shortcut gates and magic barriers can remain vanilla, always open, or require their own items. In randomized mode, activating the original switch or puzzle sends a check instead of directly opening the route.
  • Optional trial keys independently unlock the three Abyss trials. Version 0.3.3 stores them outside the inventory; trial-completion requirements can also become separate received items.
  • Lore can stay vanilla, become randomized items, provide checks without lore items, or be excluded. Lore-focused goals override incompatible exclusion settings.
  • Choose Shrine, Underground, Lava Ruins or Dark Tunnel as the starting area. Optional DeathLink and weighted Mana Drain or Bonk traps are available, with traps and linked deaths off by default.
Explore game mechanics

Before you start

  • Use both the MelonLoader client 0.3.3 and APWorld 0.3.3, requiring Archipelago 0.6.7 or later. The client checks the world version; the old RandomizedWitchNobeta BepInEx alpha is not the current installation route.
  • The guide uses the Windows Steam game and MelonLoader, naming 0.7.1 when written. Install the release's Mods folder beside LittleWitchNobeta.exe and follow the migration instructions if the old BepInEx loader is present.
  • Start or load the intended save, then use the in-game connection overlay. Movement is deliberately limited until connected. Rejoining requires loading that save and connecting again; this is not an offline-play guarantee.
  • The fake-floor bait item in Lava Ruins is currently excluded from random rewards by the world. It should not be expected to behave like an ordinary randomized pickup.
  • The latest release still reports early delivery of the Spirit Realm Vanessa Thunder check and lore item 101, plus an unintended vanilla Thunder reward. The Enraged Armor teleport check fires on the kill rather than the later pickup.
  • Soul-gain base and multiplier settings are exposed but currently do not work; values remain hardcoded. Do not plan a difficulty preset around those controls.
  • Entrance randomization and several additional breakable-object categories are hidden unfinished options. Their presence in source is not supported functionality; leave them disabled.
  • The bundled overview still describes physically carrying and dropping trial keys, a fixed level-five magic goal and fully disabled Vanessa drops. The 0.3.3 release and current options supersede those passages.
  • Difficulty is selected when creating the game save; Boss Requirements Difficulty only changes what the generator assumes you can defeat. Lowering the maximum magic level makes the character weaker, not the combat easier.
  • The setup's hosted player-options links require a compatible custom web host. Otherwise generate a template YAML through Archipelago rather than expecting those links to work on its public server.
  • Prefer the Shrine start, ordinary final-boss goal and default traversal for an initial run. Public feedback is limited and several known behavioral defects remain; no independent Panludia completion or Linux/Proton test is claimed.
