How the game changes
- Checks: Two checks per eligible hunt or quest completion. Hunting before receiving the required licence does not count retroactively.
- Items: Monster licences, quest unlocks and optional weapon licences. These primarily gate Archipelago credit rather than physically removing access to the game.
- Goals: Hunt-a-thon selects a goal monster; Quest Randomizer targets the Comeuppance urgent quest. The client reports completion on receipt of Victory.
- Options: Hunt-a-thon or Quest Randomizer, monster count, optional Sunbreak and Risen monsters, weapon licences and quest-monster randomization. Defaults and required save preparation differ between modes.
Before you start
- Follow the repository setup for REFramework, the matching client archive and mhrise.apworld. Keep lua-apclientpp.dll at the game root as instructed. Archipelago 0.6.7 or later is documented. Back up saves first; use an advanced save for Hunt-a-thon and a fresh save for Quest Randomizer.
- Use solo hunts: native multiplayer checks are intentionally suppressed when detected. The maintainer's setup documentation reports a crash when viewing some Sunbreak monster notes too early in Quest Randomizer mode. Confirm suitable settings and game version before starting. Linux support, bundled binary safety and end-to-end behavior have not been independently verified.
- Keep the client, game and APWorld versions paired; compatibility with other combinations is not established in the reviewed sources.
