NonograhmmArchipelago randomizer mod

Solve a nonogram whose clues arrive from other worlds. Correctly marking cells sends checks back to the room, while each Nonograhmm clues item reveals another stage of information rather than solving the picture for you.

How the game changes

  • Choose a grid from 5 to 25 cells wide and high. The default is 5 by 5, and the author recommends starting small: missing clues make this different from a normal nonogram with every number visible.
  • One Nonograhmm clues item is precollected. Further copies progressively reveal groups of clues in the generated order. Generation uses a line-solving algorithm to model which markings become possible at each stage.
  • Add extra items is enabled by default, making every correct marking a check. A 5-by-5 grid then has 25 checks. Disable it to retain only the puzzle's generated progress thresholds instead of every cell count.
  • Extra clues default to ten percent of the generated progression steps, rounded and limited by available locations. The remaining extra rewards are deliberately useless No, Nono and longer filler names.
  • The default zero-percent external filler setting locks these extra filler rewards inside your puzzle. Raising that percentage shuffles more of them through the multiworld; changing it does not make the filler useful.
  • By default, received clues appear one stage at a time after you finish the markings available with the current information. Show all clues instead displays received information immediately. The optional hint button highlights a relevant row or column.
  • Optional clue types reveal odd or even numbers, two possible values, or upper and lower bounds before the exact number. These start disabled and are better tried after a basic puzzle.
  • Complete all correct markings to finish the browser puzzle. Receiving the required clue stages makes the goal accessible in generation logic, but the client waits for the solved grid before sending completion. There is no DeathLink option in the reviewed world.

Before you start

  • Install nonograhmm.apworld from release 0.3.1 on the room generator, using Archipelago 0.6.4 or later. Submit your YAML, then enter the server, exact slot name and password in the author's HTTPS client. No desktop game installation is required.
  • Use the current Nonograhmm website, not similarly named older Nonogram clients. Release 0.3.1 fixes a clue-count logic error in 0.3.0; the hosted client also warns players connecting older worlds. Do not silently replace a generated room's world version.
  • Online grid progress is stored on the Archipelago server under the slot. Saves record increasing confirmed marking counts; pencil notes are removed from the stored board. Keep the original room available to resume its progress.
  • Server storage notifications can update another connected view of the same slot. This does not establish conflict-free simultaneous editing: updates replace the saved grid and only higher marking counts are accepted. Separate slots are the clearer choice for separate players.
  • After a disconnect the client explicitly requests a page refresh. Item indices are tracked during a session, but gap handling only alerts and logs; this review does not establish durable offline delivery or recovery at every interruption point.
  • The reviewed login remembers host and slot name in browser local storage, not the password. Use trusted room servers and your own browser profile. Browser code is hosted separately and can change independently of the APWorld release.
  • Large grids increase solving effort and generation work. Try the separate local practice mode before committing a long puzzle to a room. Local practice is not evidence that live multiworld delivery has been tested.
  • Panludia reviewed published options, generation, client connection, save and check paths and rendered a local practice grid. No complete Archipelago puzzle, live item exchange or security certification is claimed.
