Oddworld: New 'n' TastyArchipelago randomizer mod
Rescue Mudokons to help other worlds, while those worlds restore Abe's abilities and open new areas. Chapter selection replaces the ordinary linear journey toward the Boardroom or Alf's escape.

How the game changes
- Each Mudokon rescued through a Bird Portal sends a check. Temple doors and the individual Zulag 2 and Zulag 3 challenges also count, independently of optional area-clear checks.
- Abilities such as operating levers and lifts, possession, grenade and rock use, mine defusing, Spirit Rings, meat and Shrykull can arrive as items. Knowing the original route is not enough without its required abilities.
- Area items open chapter-select destinations. Generation chooses one starting area and supplies its configured starting abilities; the run does not always begin at Rupture Farms.
- Rescued Mudokon items provide the final-area requirement. Their required proportion is configurable from 25% to 100%, defaulting to 50%; the target is calculated from the generated pool, not simply half of the vanilla game's total population.
- The default goal finishes the Boardroom. An alternative finishes Alf's Escape and requires owning that DLC. Unlocking the area alone is not completion; its chapter-clear handler sends the goal status.
- Area-clear checks default on. Extra Area Clear Checks optionally bring otherwise omitted sections such as Monsaic Lines and Stockyard Return into the route.
- Optional shock, trip and drop traps replace surplus Mudokon filler, not the required progression quota. Trap replacement defaults to zero.
- DeathLink is optional with configurable amnesty, defaulting to ten forgiven deaths when enabled. A separate joke RingLink option sends a ring when a Mudokon is saved and removes one when a Mudokon dies.
Before you start
- Use APWorld 1.0.0 with Archipelago 0.6.5 or later and the matching Archipelago.Steam.7z package. The separately compiled GOG package is not interchangeable with the Steam build.
- The documented route uses Windows and BepInEx 5 x86. After its first configuration-generating launch, change the preloader entrypoint from Application to MonoBehaviour before installing the mod; the guide warns that the initial launch crashes without this adjustment.
- Edit the room address, exact slot name and optional password in K24_NNT_Archipelago.cfg before starting. The connection happens at save selection, not through a separate Archipelago game client.
- The mod bypasses normal save selection and deletes then recreates its dedicated SaveSlot24.NnT. Back up saves first and do not use that slot for an ordinary campaign you want to preserve.
- Received items and checked locations are rebuilt from the server when connecting. This is chapter-based multiworld progression, not a promise that a mid-level vanilla checkpoint survives a restart.
- On a failed connection, the current client displays the configured password in its error message. Keep the configuration and error screenshots private; fix the settings and restart rather than publishing the whole error screen.
- The author reports a known interaction between traps and door transitions and describes only a few initial test runs. Keep traps disabled for a conservative first session.
- Items appear as text notifications, not custom objects placed in the level. The game returns to chapter selection after ordinary area clears.
- Steam's native Linux edition is not proof that this Windows loader and compiled mod work on Linux or Proton. No verified alternate integration route is listed here.
- Only the initial release is published and visible public feedback is limited. This review verifies source, setup and release evidence, not an independent full Panludia campaign or every possible option combination.
