How the game changes
- Toppin pickups, level completion and boss victories form the basic checks. Collected objects send their checks immediately rather than waiting for a successful level finish.
- Movement randomization is enabled by default. Walking, jumping and Mach 3 remain available while selected additional moves arrive as items; the move pool adapts to the chosen character.
- The normal pool contains ninety-five Toppin items, adjustable up to one hundred and fifty. Boss entry costs are percentages of that pool. Money already spent does not reduce the number of received Toppins counted toward later bosses.
- Secret-treasure checks and fifty-seven secret checks are enabled by default. S-rank, P-rank, Chef Task and pumpkin checks are separate optional additions, off by default. Adding them can substantially increase the skill and time demanded.
- The default goal defeats Pizzaface and completes The Crumbling Tower of Pizza escape. The alternate Snotty goal shortens the generated route to floors below Snotty's configured home floor.
- Level gates, eligible boss gates and secret entrances can be shuffled separately. When applicable, Fairly Random protects the opening route; Expert Logic can instead require precise movement and less obvious mechanics.
- Boss keys normally follow boss victories unless key shuffling is enabled. Open World opens the tower floors and removes those key requirements, but does not automatically grant every randomized move or boss-entry Toppin requirement.
- Transformation randomization and Lap 2 portal items are optional and off by default. Combining transformation and movement randomization supplies starting movement assistance to protect the opening route.
- Ten percent of filler becomes traps by default, with individually weighted effects. Useful filler includes points and temporary assistance; clothing rewards, enemy randomization and music randomization are additional options.
- DeathLink and RingLink are optional and off by default. RingLink exchanges supported in-level point changes, not the Toppin progression currency. The supplied Toppin Hunt preset opens the world and concentrates the final requirement into a larger Toppin hunt.
Before you start
- The reviewed distribution targets the Steam Windows game. It requires both pizza_tower.apworld and the separate game patch from the linked GameBanana page. The world manifest requires Archipelago 0.6.3 or later.
- Use Pizza Oven for the documented mod-manager route, or Delta Patcher with the supplied XDelta patch against a clean data.win. Back up the original installation first; do not force a patch when its checksum does not match.
- The setup does not pin a supported base-game version. A future update or another data.win mod can invalidate the patch, so consult the current maintainer instructions rather than assuming all game builds are interchangeable.
- Start the patched game, choose a file, then connect Pizza Tower Client to the correct room, case-sensitive slot and password. The APWorld includes that client, but is not itself the game patch.
- Game and client communicate through a local WebSocket on port 12312. Use one Pizza Tower integration instance at a time on that machine; this is not a multi-instance save router.
- Use the mod's AP save handling and resume the matching room. Keep backups before switching campaigns or using its save-cleanup command, which removes AP save data. Keep the client running and connected while progressing.
- S- and P-rank challenges require substantially more execution skill than basic collection. P ranks also satisfy S-rank checks; related Chef Tasks are excluded when the corresponding rank-check option is disabled.
- The Snotty goal cannot use floor one as its home floor because that leaves no playable lower-floor route. This was fixed in the preceding release; generate a new room when changing the goal or floor configuration.
- Version 1.3.3 fixes generation when S/P-ranked Chef Tasks were present without their rank-check options. Its game patch was republished to align version labels; the actual hotfix was in the APWorld.
- The project has a concrete maintained patch and recent logic fixes, but Panludia has not independently completed a current campaign. Linux or Proton compatibility, safe disconnected play and unrelated mod combinations are not established by the reviewed setup.
