How the game changes
- Complete maps for checks while chapters use a randomized chamber order.
- Puzzle elements become items, including portal-gun upgrades, buttons, cubes, gels and PotatOS.
- Optional Wheatley monitors, Ratman dens and vitrified doors add checks; passive cutscene maps can be excluded.
- The Portal 2 client lists maps, sublocations, requirements and collected checks. Choose automatic next-map loading or a return to the menu.
- Defeat the final chapter to complete the goal. DeathLink, adjustable traps and themed filler are available.
Before you start
- Install the paired 0.8.2 sourcemod and APWorld. Launch the separate Steam sourcemod entry and keep the Portal 2 client open with the documented netconport setting.
- Choose chambers in the client's Maps tab. The current client no longer implements the old extras.txt selection/write flow still mentioned in parts of the README.
- The release changes map-load initialization and restores complete map names. Those source changes do not establish a successful playthrough or a fix for every reported gel requirement.
- The client forwards server display text through its game-console channel without escaping it. Use rooms and participants you trust; this path has not been shown to safely separate arbitrary display text from game commands.
- Restart the client before changing seeds or slots. The map menu keeps shared state, and reconnect does not provide durable recovery of all checks, queued commands or victory notifications.
- Traps are optional. The Slippery Floor handler has no explicit friction restore, and replayed item packets can reapply traps; leave traps disabled if these limitations are unsuitable for your session.
- Windows and Linux installation paths are documented, including a Proton fallback. Exact game-build compatibility and Steam Deck operation have not been independently verified.
- The package includes a VPK of textures, models and other assets. Contributor credits exist, but the reviewed materials do not establish provenance and redistribution terms for every asset.
