How the game changes
- Receive songs and ward keys from the multiworld, then send checks by clearing songs at B, A or optional S rank. Boss stages use their applicable Clear, Complete+ and Perfect conditions; Rhythm Weightlifter has twelve separate stage checks.
- Boss access depends on a configurable number of songs cleared in each act at the chosen rank. Helping Hands is the default finale; other goals require B, A or Perfect ranks across the campaign.
- One song in an initially accessible ward is provided at the start. Later Weightlifter stages and selected difficult checks are excluded from required progression by the World.
- Optional traps and powerups change difficulty, speed, mistake weight, characters or sounds. Random traps and powerups are disabled by default; DeathLink is optional and has an in-game setting.
- Client 0.7.2 adds a quick reconnect control and simplifies the login screen. The 0.7 series reorganizes modifier handling; 0.7.1 also restores the hidden 6-2 level on the targeted game beta.
- Result screens show scouted rewards and recipients. A community PopTracker pack and Universal Tracker offer an external view of campaign progress.
Before you start
- Both components remain previews. Use the 0.7.2 client ZIP matching your BepInEx major version and the separately published rhythm_doctor.apworld from World release 0.0.11.1. Its internal manifest is 0.0.11 with a stated Archipelago minimum of 0.6.7. The development branch already says 0.0.12, but that is not the published download reviewed here.
- The client targets Rhythm Doctor beta 1.2.0, release 43. It warns when the game build differs, but a warning does not establish compatibility. Select the intended beta before installing; later game updates need a fresh check.
- BepInEx 5 is recommended. Extract the matching ZIP into BepInEx so its plugins folder is merged correctly; retain the plugin, Pulse, network library and Assets together. Set HideManagerGameObject to true in BepInEx.cfg. Native Linux needs the documented run_bepinex.sh launch route.
- macOS is excluded for game 1.0.5 and later because of the Unity 6 loader limitation documented by the maintainer. The game being sold for macOS does not establish support for this mod.
- Automatic reconnect is not implemented. The quick reconnect button starts another login; it does not preserve an interrupted session. Keep the room available, verify acknowledgements and return to the ward if newly received items have not appeared. The maintainer notes that console-injected items can require reconnecting.
- Back up normal saves before use. The plugin temporarily clears the configured slot in memory, suppresses ordinary campaign and backup writes, and reloads disk data on normal menu return. This is not full isolation from other mods; the maintainer still lists possible Rhythm Weightlifter results leaking from slot 1.
- Keep default traps and powerups off for the least experimental configuration. In the reviewed client, Scramble Beatsound Trap is mapped to hard difficulty. Sticky-trap combinations and modifier consumption also have unresolved accounting issues, and the 0.7 migration requires previously cleared traps to be cleared again.
- The World rejects a Ghost-Tap-only random pool and has inconsistent sticky-trap validation. With perfect checks disabled, client result handling can still include their IDs. Offline checks and the final victory have no durable queue for later delivery.
- Room passwords are retained in configuration and included in login logs, including a base64 copy of the input. Keep those files private and redact them before sharing diagnostics. Use an explicit wss:// room address where supported; an address without a scheme can fall back to plaintext.
- The source roots carry MIT licenses, while the downloaded packages omit their full notices. The source archive also contains stripped game-reference assemblies whose redistribution basis is not documented in the reviewed material. This is an evidence gap, not a finding of unlawful distribution.
