How the game changes
- Checks: Chapter clears, encounter gates, defence waves and flawless waves, chess-piece artifacts, breakable props and configured character levels.
- Items: Chapter and character unlocks, progressive skills and upgrades, artifacts towards the final boss threshold and character XP filler.
- Goals: Reach Final Exam with the required artifact percentage and optional number of chapter completions, then clear its boss.
- Options: Starting/random chapters, character count and exclusions, starting characters, level checks, optional owned JNPR DLC and separate DeathLink send/receive modes.
Before you start
- The reviewed release is v0.2.3, with rwby_ge.apworld declaring World 0.2.3 and Archipelago 0.6.7 or newer. Its mod DLL identifies revision 85c58de and assembly version 1.0.0; the native sources match the release tag. Use the APWorld and mod ZIP from the same release.
- Use your owned Steam PC copy with 32-bit BepInEx. Set the documented preloader entry point to MonoBehaviour/.cctor, extract the mod under BepInEx/plugins and connect through the main-menu Archipelago entry. The maintainer documents Windows BepInEx and a winhttp override for Proton; these environments were not run in this review.
- The current guide documents co-op by having every player connect to the same AP slot; the older guide warning is gone. JNPR remains optional and should be enabled only with the owned, installed DLC. Chapter selection, characters and abilities are shuffled; reach Final Exam with the required artifacts and chapter completions, then defeat its boss.
- The World models final-chapter access and its prerequisites, whereas the client sends victory on that chapter's completion. Tracker completion therefore need not represent the actual final boss clear. Character-level checks use a conservative chapter-unlock requirement in logic.
- The connection log includes the room password. Prefer a room-specific password and remove connection credentials before sharing BepInEx logs. Network encryption and certificate handling in the bundled native transport are not fully established by this review.
- AP profiles are stored on the room server, separately from the ordinary save. Offline saves and checks are not buffered reliably, and the automatic reconnect hook is not fully wired. Keep the server connection active; after a disconnect, rejoin from the menu and verify profile progress rather than continuing to collect unique checks.
- Skill delivery with no local player and single-player DeathLink with no living players lack state guards. Leave DeathLink off for the initial session; interrupted profile/item/victory recovery is not established.
- The mod ZIP contains the plugin and three dependencies, with no game/DLC assets or operational game assemblies identified. The source archive includes stripped game/Unity build references. Image attribution is documented, but complete redistribution notices, reference permissions and native transport build provenance remain unestablished.
