How the game changes
- Choose one or more Ronin, Brotherhood, Sons of Samedi or Ultor arcs. Ultor can now form a shorter independent route after Three Kings. Revelation and Stilwater Caverns are optional checks that can also be required for victory.
- Activity, race and collectible access now arrives as unlock passes. Your chosen starting activity receives a guaranteed pass after Appointed Defender; race passes are separated by vehicle class.
- Respect remains the main mission resource. Required amounts follow the selected arcs, with additional useful Bonus Respect configurable at 15 percent by default. Placement rules keep required Respect on suitable checks.
- Missions and strongholds, activity levels, each Chop Shop vehicle and Hitman target, and bronze/silver/gold race medals send checks. CDs and the newly added 50 tags are optional collectible families.
- Style Level contributes seven checks by default, with up to ten selectable. The expensive ranks eight to ten exclude progression by default unless explicitly enabled.
- Weapons, selected unlockables, cheats and money rewards enter the pool. Version 0.3 adds Minigun, Flamethrower and larger cash rewards, plus separate filler-category weights.
- Notoriety and persistent-weather traps have separate toggles as well as an overall chance. A Restore Weather Cycle item ends a weather trap; DeathLink remains unimplemented.
- Universal Tracker support includes a map and accounts for Respect already spent on missions. The game menu identifies the installed seed/player, and the client exposes bridge and item-cursor status.
Before you start
- Use the matching 0.3.1 APWorld and SR2Archipelago.zip. This remains a work-in-progress integration. Version 0.3.1 corrects generated mission files for campaigns with Ultor disabled; regenerate affected room files rather than replacing only the plugin.
- Install Juiced Patch for the Steam or GOG PC edition, then the release scripts, Mods and bundled Win32 dinput8.dll. Add both documented mod paths to loose.txt and install the room-specific generated mods directory. The APWorld alone is insufficient.
- Linux uses the Windows game and loader through Wine or Proton with the documented DLL override. This is not a native Linux plugin or an independently verified Steam Deck setup.
- Close both the game and client when replacing files or switching rooms. Keep separate backed-up saves and preserve both SR2ArchipelagoRevisions.json and the client item ledger. A save checksum snapshot does not prove that an existing save belongs to the selected room.
- The client and plugin reject mismatched protocols and later room changes. The 0.3 progression and protocol changes should be used with a newly generated matching seed; older 0.2 room compatibility was not established.
- Keep the game bridge and AP client connected while playing. Checks already observed by the client can be resent, but native progression events occurring during a disconnection are not stored in a durable outbox. Reconnecting alone can leave them unsent until a fresh game-state scan.
- Several item effects, including weapons and cash, now run on the game thread, which addresses the former activity-interruption path. Their network acknowledgement still records successful queueing before the effect executes; a failure or interruption can leave delivery incomplete.
- Native co-op and multiplayer are unsupported. Gentlemen of the Row and the PC DLC mod are also unsupported. Start with the required setup on an otherwise vanilla copy, and confirm the intended seed/player in Archipelago Info.
- Use an explicit wss:// address when available and enter passwords through the client prompt. The inherited client logs the full connection address, so avoid embedding a password in that address. The local plugin bridge has no peer authentication.
- Keep at least one filler-category weight above zero when both trap types are disabled. The all-zero combination can reach an invalid filler choice even with the trap chance set to 100 percent.
- The archives include modified game scripts/tables and map imagery. Root source licences and third-party notices exist, but the release archives omit them and a separate redistribution basis for the game material was not found. This records a documentation gap, not a finding of unlawful distribution.
