How the game changes
- The v0.2.6 APWorld defines 241 distinct network checks across built-in quests, a pause action and optional equipment, food, exploration, mob and structure checks. The shipped Mainland + Dark Forest template activates 93: 92 built-in checks and one pause check.
- Choose Mainland, Dark Forest and Island boards, then select Kill All Bosses or Kill Random Boss. The template uses Mainland + Dark Forest and requires every selected-board boss.
- Progression travels as Idea blueprints and booster packs. Ideas unlock crafting; packs unlock card groups. Board expansion structures, resource packs and weighted traps fill the item pool.
- The shipped settings place 46 progression/useful items, then derive 12 weighted trap copies and 35 Mainland Resource Booster Pack fillers to match the 93 checks. Trap types and their distribution vary by seed.
Before you start
- The v0.2.6 release publishes a v0.2.6 APWorld, Windows mod archive and YAML template. Its release text also says the mod is compatible with APWorld v0.2.5; keep files from one release together and do not change versions mid-run.
- The packaged APWorld source defines 241 network checks, while its documentation describes 240 by board. The extra source definition is not explained; 93 checks are active in the shipped template.
- The GitHub tag contains the C# client source but none of the Python files bundled in the APWorld. The APWorld's included license limits public redistribution to named upstream repositories; Panludia links the maintainer downloads and does not mirror them. The compiled client was not rebuilt from source.
- The setup guide documents Windows and Archipelago 0.6.7 or newer. Its Linux section is not finished. Stacklands 2000 and Cursed Worlds are not supported.
- Connecting restarts the game and goal submission is manual. The v0.2.6 client release warns that upgrading after defeating a boss can prevent goal detection. Save isolation is the maintainer's claim; Panludia has not tested it or a complete session.
