How the game changes
- Start with three available levels and one skater. Each included skater receives one random starting trick family and has their own ability progression and checks; changing skater changes what you can do and what you can still collect.
- Level and Skater Unlocks expand access. Flip, grab and spin items enable scoring from those tricks, while other items enable manuals, transfers, wallplants, stance changes and extra tricks, including reverts.
- Progressive Stats restore normal stats, then maximum stats and optionally bail immunity. Progressive grinds, lips and manuals can eventually grant perfect balance. Progressive Special Meter enables specials and later preserves the meter after a bail.
- High, Pro and Sick score and combo targets, individual S-K-A-T-E letters and Secret Tape pickups supply checks. Optional Platinum targets, timed grinds/lips/manuals, selected gaps and signature specials add more objectives.
- Choose a Secret Tape hunt or collect enough tapes and score one million points on a selected finale level. Defaults place twenty tapes and require fifteen. The finale also requires its Level Unlock; collecting an in-level tape check is not the same as receiving a goal tape item.
- The package supports nineteen levels and a roster of twenty-three skaters. Current options select eight to nineteen levels and one to fourteen skaters, despite an older overview still saying ten. The default is eight levels and one skater.
- Score and combo thresholds have independent multipliers, either shared or randomized per level. Increasing the number of skaters multiplies checks and separate ability pools, whereas increasing score thresholds changes execution difficulty.
- Perfect-balance and bail-immunity tiers are enabled by default but can be removed. Fourteen optional traps affect visuals, skater size, gravity, speed or controls; trap density defaults to zero. Remaining novelty filler includes bobbleheads with no gameplay effect.
- Universal Tracker can be embedded in the client when its APWorld is installed. It reconstructs this game's layout without the original YAML and displays generated score, time and gap targets.
Before you start
- Windows is explicitly required: the client uses Windows process-memory and thread APIs. The reviewed installation is not a native Linux or Proton compatibility claim, even if the unmodified game can run there.
- Install the 1.2.0 APWorld in Archipelago 0.6.7 or newer. Its included client attaches to the running game, so there is no separate game-mod ZIP to copy. Launch the game to the main menu first, then connect the named client to your slot.
- Unlock at least eight levels through ordinary play beforehand, ideally every level you will select. Archipelago unlock items do not unlock levels in the underlying vanilla save. Exclude content you have not unlocked before generating the seed.
- The setup guide publishes exact supported executable fingerprints. A different or newly updated THPS12.exe is not automatically compatible with memory-based integration; compare it with the maintainer's guide when attachment fails.
- Gap and signature-special checks are read after returning to the main menu, not immediately when the trick lands. Allow several seconds there for the client to read the results before closing the game.
- The one-million-point finale remains a fixed goal, separate from ordinary score multipliers. The reviewed generation goal gate counts tapes and access, not a guarantee that your available trick kit makes that score comfortable. Choose the tape-only hunt for a goal without this final execution requirement.
- Use a separate or backed-up profile and keep the client connected while skating. Resume by reopening the game and connecting to the same room. Already-sent checks persist on the server, but arbitrary play while disconnected is not established as reliably recoverable.
- Custom levels, online competitive play, split-screen shared progression and DeathLink are not part of the documented AP setup. More included skaters means more solo progression routes inside one slot, not additional human players.
- The maintainer describes the implementation as feature-complete. Public feedback available during review is limited, and Panludia has not independently reproduced a complete current-version campaign.
