How the game changes

  • Checks: 36 by default; Extra, shot and difficulty options expand the set.
  • Items: Characters/shots, stage unlocks, lives, bombs, power, lower difficulty and normal-mode continues.
  • Goal: Defeat Remilia, Flandre or both with the selected ending requirements.
  • Options: Practice or normal runs, stage grouping, resource thresholds, traps and optional DeathLink/RingLink.
  • Update: 1.5.0 adds classic rerelease support in the bundled Python client.
Explore game mechanics

Before you start

  • Install th06.apworld 1.5.0 in Archipelago 0.6.6 or newer. The same archive provides Touhou EoSD Client. Start the installed game, open that client and connect to your AP room; look for the process-found message. Version 1.5.0 adds a separate address profile for the classic rerelease. The game itself is required separately and is not included in this APWorld.
  • Default Practice mode has 36 checks: six stages for two characters, each awarding midboss, boss and stage-clear rewards. Boss defeat and stage clear share the concluding encounter detector. You begin with one character/shot, Lunatic difficulty and zero resources, then receive stage access, characters, lives, bombs, power and lower difficulties. Normal mode removes stage-unlock gating and gives resources at the beginning of a run; dynamic difficulty excludes Easy because it stops before Stage 6.
  • The goal is Remilia, Flandre or both, with one-character, all-character or all-shot ending requirements. Extra stages, difficulty checks and shot checks expand the location set. For normal runs with linear Extra, the game unlock follows Stage 6 clear while the World’s Extra access rule does not require that clear. Avoid enabling traps with every trap weight at zero: that combination is not validated before weighted selection. The trap loop clears flags on stage exit without explicitly restoring changed movement speeds; movement-trap recovery remains unestablished.
  • Back up score.dat before playing: the client rewrites practice access and score markers. Keep the client connected while clearing encounters; checks have no persistent sending queue, and an unacknowledged completion may need to be repeated. Item packets have no applied-index ledger, so reconnect/repeated delivery can affect resource or ending counters. Reattach logic exists for a closed game process, but this is not a guarantee of save or offline-progress recovery.
  • The maintainer documents the Windows Archipelago build inside the same Wine prefix as the game, using Wine 10 or below and starting the game through /launch after opening the client. Proton is explicitly unsupported. All sixteen packaged Python modules match the tag by AST. No game-specific automated tests were supplied, and the optional memory guard loop is not started. Sources and archives were inspected without executing the game; the source is MIT-licensed, but the APWorld omits its licence text.
