Compatibility notes

  • This listing covers the original Windows game and the bundled Touhou PCB client. The maintainer does not identify a precise supported game executable revision; compatibility with other editions or operating systems is not established.
  • Back up score.dat before playing, as the maintainer advises. The client changes practice scores and stage unlocks in the running game without a separate save for each seed or slot.
  • The APWorld includes the World and Python client. The guide explains launching the game and connecting Touhou PCB Client, but does not fully document a clean installation or declare its Pymem dependency.
  • The client attaches by process name and writes fixed memory addresses before checking its patches. A matching process name does not establish that the executable layout is compatible.
  • Static review found gaps in repeated-item handling, reconnect delivery of checks and retention of victory notifications. Already-recorded stage clears restore linear bonus access, but unsent checks and replayed item effects are not protected in the same way.
  • Choose an enabled stage as your goal. Selecting a disabled bonus goal while the other bonus stage remains enabled can make the client report completion before the World’s full ending requirement is met.
  • If traps are enabled, keep at least one trap weight positive. Temporary memory changes also lack guaranteed restoration after interruption.
  • Use an explicit wss:// room address when available and avoid placing passwords in connection URLs or command-line arguments. The inherited client supports plaintext connections and may log the supplied address.
