TY the Tasmanian TigerArchipelago randomizer mod
Explore the Australian outback as rang abilities, level access and collectibles arrive from other worlds. Optional collectible checks can turn a compact adventure into a much larger hunt, with a shared-slot koala mode for friends.

How the game changes
- Thunder Eggs, Golden Cogs, bilbies, completed bilby sets, rang and ability rewards, and talismans form the core checks. A collected check sends its randomized reward instead of guaranteeing the original ability.
- Received Thunder Eggs and Golden Cogs are tracked separately from collected locations. Their totals unlock boss portals or Julius's lab rewards according to the generated thresholds.
- Progressive Elementals is on by default. Its sequence restores the second rang, swimming, Aquarang, diving and later elemental rangs. Other technorangs such as Infrarang are separate items.
- The default level mode keeps the first portal open, turns later normal levels into progressive unlock items and uses Thunder Egg totals for bosses. Vanilla access or item-based boss access are alternatives; portal destinations can also be shuffled.
- The goal defeats Boss Cass in Final Battle and rescues Ty's parents. Requiring all bosses first is an additional option, off by default.
- The default Thunder Egg threshold is seventeen per hub, with seven extra eggs of each type. The lab threshold defaults to ten cogs. Extra-item counts and thresholds change how much collection the room needs before rewards open.
- Framesanity can add one check per level or all 127 eligible picture frames. Postgame bonus-world frames are excluded. Rainbow scales, signposts, unique extra lives and individual opals are separate optional check expansions, off by default.
- Gate Time Attacks adds level-specific Stopwatch items and harder timed challenges. It is off by default. Standard Logic is the default; Advanced and Doom logic assume increasingly demanding routes and minimal equipment.
- Bilby items make their corresponding cages available in the game. The built-in tracker and collectible-information window help explain received items and identify numbered collectibles.
- DeathLink and Mul-Ty-Link are optional. Mul-Ty-Link shows other players connected to the same slot as koalas, with a soft limit of eight and a distinct Mul-Ty name per person. It is not a claim of fully synchronized native multiplayer.
- Five weighted trap types are available, including forced level exit, gravity, slow movement, knockdown and screen-color effects. Trap fill defaults to zero. Seed-based music randomization requires the separate Music Rando mod.
Before you start
- This listing covers the first game's Steam Windows release, not TY 2, 3 or 4. The reviewed APWorld manifest requires Archipelago 0.6.5 or later. Linux and Proton are not established by the documented installation.
- Install ty_the_tasmanian_tiger.apworld for generation and install the separate Ty1 AP Client plugin in the game. The APWorld alone does not connect TY to a room.
- The maintainer strongly recommends Ty Mod Manager, which resolves the mod and its dependencies. Activate Ty1-AP-Client and launch from the manager; updates are deliberately manual to avoid unexpected breaking changes.
- For a manual installation, install TygerFramework and TygerMemory, put the client DLL in the framework's plugins directory and place Patch_PC.rkv beside TY.exe. The current client manifest requests TygerMemory 1.0.4; the README's older minimum is not the current dependency pin.
- Open the AP panel using its top-right logo and toggle the framework window with F1 to interact with it. Connect the room, password and slot, then use the now-enabled Load Game button.
- The client creates a seed-and-slot save in the game's Saves directory and bypasses the normal save-selection screen. Back up this directory before upgrades and keep the same seed and slot when resuming.
- A lost connection returns the game to the main menu or disables loading. Keep the client connected during play; asynchronous multiworld support means resuming a hosted room across sessions, not playing this integration offline.
- Large extra Thunder Egg or cog counts can exceed pool limits or fail generation, particularly without added collectible checks. More checks and harder logic are not merely cosmetic difficulty labels.
- Mul-Ty-Link is optional and explicitly marked use-with-caution. Keep unique participant names, stay within its eight-player soft limit and do not treat the koala display as a guarantee of shared combat or physics simulation.
- The reviewed source retains an older version-warning comparison even though the current world and client distributions are labeled 1.5.0. Check both downloaded packages when warned; do not assume the displayed mismatch identifies an obsolete installation.
- The latest releases include fixes for bilbies, scale rewards and shared-slot networking. Panludia has reviewed the public setup, packages, options and connection/save code, not independently completed a current campaign or certified arbitrary game updates.
