How the game changes
- All twenty trinkets are location checks; the corresponding trinket items may be placed in other games.
- Door Cost optionally gates the Laboratory, Tower, Space Station 2 and Warp Zone with specific groups of trinkets. Setting it to zero removes these extra locks.
- Optional entrance and area-cost randomization change the route between regions; music randomization changes the soundtrack assignment.
- Rescue all crew members and finish the story to complete the goal.
- DeathLink includes an adjustable death allowance, useful in a platformer with frequent retries. A generated .apv6 file also supports offline single-player play.
Before you start
- Use the V6AP executable with an owned VVVVVV installation. The current maintenance release is named for an older Archipelago version but explicitly targets compatibility with newer versions.
- Only a Windows binary is published in the reviewed release. The base game's Linux/macOS support alone does not establish a ready-to-use mod package for those systems.
- The release may require a manual SDL2 x86 DLL update and x86 Visual C++ Redistributables. Do not substitute their x64 versions.
- Room and slot details are passed through launch options. Quote values containing spaces; a configured room password is consequently visible in those local launch settings and process arguments.
- The trinket display inside the spaceship is not authoritative for this mode. Use the pause menu's Stats display to inspect received trinkets.
- If automatic reconnection fails, the official guide recommends saving and restarting. Back up existing saves before replacing game files.
