How the game changes
- Play a custom branching campaign with 38 checks for mission victories, chests and discoveries. Soldiers and dogs are available from the start; other units arrive as items.
- Unlock map events, commander factions and income or commander-defense boosts. The final mission requires Final Bridges, Final Walls and Final Sickle.
- Choose fixed random commanders or unlockable factions. Optional DeathLink and bounded unit sacrifice/summon settings connect the campaign with other Wargroove players.
- Archipelago 0.6.8 adds named item groups: Units, Events, Final Items, Boosts and Factions. The bundled campaign and game scripts are unchanged from 0.6.7.
Before you start
- Requires the Steam PC version with Double Trouble. The documented Linux setup uses the Windows game through Proton and its appdata folder; native macOS and console versions are not supported.
- Back up playerProgress and playerProgress.bak before installation or replacement. Start the client with Wargroove closed, and follow the guide to clear old Archipelago campaign progress when changing campaigns or starting a new multiworld.
- Keep the client connected while completing checks and the final mission. Communication files can be cleared before delivery or on disconnect; /resync is not a guarantee that every interrupted one-time check will be restored.
- Optional sacrifice/summon transfers can lose a unit during interruption and do not provide an atomic shared claim. Leave these options disabled if you do not want those transfer limits.
- The Linux World and bundled assets match the reviewed source. Packed Lua was inspected, but complete map-logic correspondence, the editable campaign build and Windows inner-package contents remain unverified. No game session was performed.
