Build words in a shuffled custom factory campaign while multiworld items unlock machinery. Add recipe discoveries and selected word orders, or use progressive placement limits. AP Mail tracks deliveries, chats and the machinery still needed.
The release defines 30 core campaign factories and ten optional Discovery Labs, arranged into six-slot shuffled pages that open after four page checks. Recipe Checks add 187 journal discoveries by default (24 Bender, 86 Merger2, 58 Merger3 and 19 Merger4); 119 entries carry the source catalog’s hidden flag. Type-a-Word adds up to 20 dynamic checks when enabled. The Victory event has no network location ID.

247 Campaign locations, optional validated recipe discoveries and up to 20 YAML-selected Type-a-Word locations.Default uses Core Campaign + Discovery Labs (40 campaign checks) and Recipe Checks on (187 checks); Type-a-Word is off. This yields 227 default checks. The Core Campaign alone has 30 campaign checks; enabling Type-a-Word can add up to 20 more.

Known scope and limitations
Version 1.7.0 is a tester prerelease. Use the complete player ZIP, Archipelago 0.6.7 (manifest range0.6.7–0.6.8) and the installer-verified Word Factori Steam build 12616577. Keep the APWorld, client, native patch and tracker package paired; replacing only the APWorld does not install the game changes.
Windows uses Install Word Factori Archipelago.cmd. Linux uses the native shell/Python installer with an explicitly selected native AP directory and Steam/Proton prefix; run the game once and close it before setup. Avoid running the Linux installer through Wine or sudo. Linux/Proton setup and Mail have supplied code/tests, with live platform/compositor acceptance still pending.
Generate a new room and select a fresh empty mod save, then keep Word Factori Client running. Existing progressed saves cannot be automatically bound to a new room. Installation preserves user saves and the verified original-game backup; supported older patches upgrade through that backup, while unknown game hashes are rejected.
Defaults provide 227 checks:40 custom factories plus 187 recipe discoveries. The smaller core campaign has 30 factories; recipe checks can be disabled and up to 20 selected Type-a-Word orders can be added. Complete 25 canonical campaign factories or choose Final Factory; labs, recipes and word orders do not increase the campaign-count goal.
New seeds use machine access and shuffled six-level pages, with four completions opening the next page. Normal unlocks apply on factory re-entry. Progressive mode grants 1/2/3/4/unlimited placements per family and updates live; deleting machinery frees allowance. Challenge limits still apply, custom-building production is blocked, and imported/over-limit layouts remain editable.
AP Mail now includes Items, Chat, Type-a-Word, Progress and Status. Progress separates the shuffled order, local page locks, server-confirmed checks and missing machinery. F8 opens Mail; the normal client remains the fallback. Use windowed/borderless mode for the Windows overlay; exclusive fullscreen and several DPI/password-room configurations remain outside completed live acceptance.
Room-scoped sidecars preserve pending checks before transmission and remove them after server confirmation. Native save journals can be rescanned after reconnect. Victory is rechecked/resendable on reconnect, but an interrupted or guard-refused goal-send has no complete same-session retry acknowledgement; verify the room reports completion and reconnect if necessary.
Use password prompts instead of password-bearing launch arguments or connection URLs. The AP framework defaults a bare host:port to ws://; use an explicit wss:// endpoint where supported for a protected connection. Native Mail carries presentation data rather than room passwords, and ordinary preferences do not persist them.
The supplied patch transforms a verified original game file locally; the player ZIP contains no full game binary. Its complete literal-segment provenance is not independently established, and the standalone APWorld omits the root MIT notice present in the player ZIP. Link/hardlink checks exist, but pathname substitution protection and pre-parse size bounds are incomplete in parts of local I/O.
