COMMUNITY INTEGRATION

Anodyne: Fan RemakeArchipelago randomizer mod

Sweep through Anodyne's dreamlike dungeons with broom upgrades, keys and cards arriving from other worlds. This integration targets the AnodyneSharp fan remake distributed on itch.io, with options that turn dungeon access, warp gates and even dust into multiworld progression.

Setup & releases

Choose the documented game and integration versions and follow the original installation instructions.

Compatibility notes

  • Use the itch.io AnodyneSharp fan remake, not the original Steam executable. The remake authors expect players to own the original Anodyne; installing it is not required, but original-game saves cannot be imported into the remake.
  • Pair APWorld 0.6.3 with client mod 0.7.1 from the separate client repository. The world manifest requires Archipelago 0.6.4 or newer. World and client version numbers are independent; do not substitute a legacy Steam integration for this pair.
  • Extract AnodyneArchipelago.zip into Mods next to AnodyneSharp.exe. Select Archipelago in the game menu, enter the room and exact slot, then connect. Keyboard input is required for connection details even when using a controller. Removing the mod leaves ordinary gameplay available.
  • This listing identifies the documented Windows setup. The remake also publishes Linux and portable builds, but those game downloads alone do not establish that this specific integration has been tested on every operating system.
  • The client remembers nine connection profiles, including plaintext passwords, in Saves/ap_settings.dat. Keep that file private. Back up saves before upgrades; use trusted rooms and retain their server data. Do not publish your save directory as a support attachment without checking it for credentials.
  • Archipelago progress uses separate saves. Current client source includes the seed, slot and a server-stored room identifier in the save name, while its README still warns about same-seed rooms sharing saves. Preserve backups and do not assume old clients or a recreated server database will select the same file.
  • Items, traps and incoming DeathLink wait for a normal grounded gameplay state, rather than interrupting menus or cutscenes. Saved local check events are resent after loading. Stay connected and save normally; unsaved progress and all disconnection cases have not been independently verified.
  • Most uses of the wiggle technique are outside logic, except the isolated northern Nexus chest. Hidden Fields paths may remain physically traversable even when the option excludes them from logic. Out of logic does not mean the mod erects an invisible wall.
  • World 0.6.3 fixes trap-weight generation problems; client 0.7.1 fixes the crash when Briar awards your own item. The optional Universal Tracker pack is release-specific and must be updated alongside the APWorld. Panludia reviewed packages and selected source paths, not a complete gameplay run or binary safety certification.

This integration is maintained independently of Panludia. Downloads are provided by its maintainer. Contact the maintainer through the linked repository or support channels.
