How the game changes
- Add an autonomous rat to your multiworld. It moves around a map, attempts ordinary checks and waits for progression items or enough rats to pass gated landmarks.
- Choose a shorter finish at Captured Goldfish or Secret Cache, or the full Snakes on a Planet route. Landmark tooltips, status markers and the progression sidebar explain what the rat needs.
- Received items can add rats, unlock named requirements or apply configurable buffs and traps. Harmless filler is intentional; aura classification follows the effects actually enabled in the World.
- Ask the rat to focus a location through chat, choose a destination on the map, request item hints or let it choose its own route. Action intervals, messages and animations are configurable.
- Client 1.1.7 adds cleanup for death-animation effects that could remain visible after interruption. The release also refreshes dependencies; the APWorld stays on its separate 1.1.1 version.
Before you start
- Generate with Autopelago APWorld 1.1.1 and Archipelago 0.6.7 or later, then connect through autopelago.app using the room address and slot. Client 1.1.7 and APWorld 1.1.1 use independent version numbers; the maintainer documents 1.x compatibility.
- This is an automated participant for practice or an extra slot, not a manually played action game. The reviewed web build matches the downloadable release; self-host dist.zip through a web server rather than opening index.html directly.
- Poison can kill the rat after a delay; it returns to the start with temporary meters reset while keeping progression. DeathLink is optional. A pending poison DeathLink can be sent after reconnecting, so disconnecting does not cancel it.
- Keep the room available and avoid running multiple clients for the same slot. State is stored on the AP server. A failed state-save request can interrupt later saves in the current session; unusual receipt replays and the last check around a disconnect are not fully protected by the inspected client.
- Use positive weights for custom victory messages and disable chatter through the client settings. An all-zero victory-message list can also prevent the client from reporting its completed goal.
- The connection form remembers its password in browser local storage. Use a trusted browser profile and a secure AP endpoint when confidentiality matters. The network library permits unencrypted connections in supported self-hosted setups.
- The 1.1.7 death-animation change is present in the distributed code, but no browser session was executed here. Mobile and long-session behavior remain unverified. Dependency notices are included; complete application/artwork redistribution documentation was not established.
