Celeste 64Archipelago randomizer mod
Explore a compact 3D Celeste adventure where other worlds supply strawberries and the abilities that open new routes. This free anniversary game is separate from the original 2D Celeste: use its dedicated Archipelago build, not a mod for the Steam game.

How the game changes
- Thirty strawberry pickups send checks instead of directly awarding their original strawberries. Received Strawberry items count toward your goal; after collecting the required amount, visit Badeline on her floating island to finish.
- Dash refills, double-dash refills, feathers, coins, cassettes, traffic blocks, springs and breakable objects are unlocked by received items. Optional Move Shuffle also puts grounded dash, air dash, skid jump and climbing into the multiworld.
- Friendsanity adds nine conversation checks, Signsanity adds five signs, and Carsanity adds two car checks. Checkpointsanity shuffles checkpoint access into received items. These options are off by default, so extra categories are a deliberate choice.
- Choose up to 55 Strawberry items, with 20 requested by default, and a required percentage from zero to 100, defaulting to 80. The actual count is capped by the available item slots; enabling more check categories creates more room in the pool.
- Standard logic is the default. Hard logic assumes advanced movement techniques. Combining Hard logic with Move Shuffle is explicitly challenging; optional Badeline chasers can raise the pressure further.
- Cassette Shuffle changes which challenge sublevel each cassette enters. Optional traps include slippery movement, reversed controls, stun and zoom effects. Trap percentage defaults to zero; TrapLink can share enabled trap types with other participating games.
- DeathLink is optional, with configurable death amnesty rather than necessarily sending every death. Other Celeste 64 players can appear as ghosts; optional ghost collision death is an extra challenge, not shared-save co-op.
Before you start
- Download the dedicated 1.4.1 Windows game and the celeste64.apworld attached to that release. The included world's manifest declares 1.4.0 and requires Archipelago 0.6.6 or newer; client and world labels are not identical. Client 1.4.1 also explicitly supports 1.3.x seeds.
- Extract the game into a writable directory. Before launching Celeste64.exe, edit AP.json with the room address, exact slot name and optional password. Passing the title screen confirms the initial connection. Keep this plaintext connection file private.
- The core guide documents Linux and Steam Deck through Proton using the Windows executable. This is not a native Linux release or an independent Panludia verification of every Proton version. Follow the current Archipelago APWorld installation procedure rather than assuming the old lib/worlds path in the release notes applies to your installation.
- Back up ap_save.json before changing rooms or versions. The reviewed client loads a single save from its user data directory and stores progress by level, not by room seed. Do not reuse that progress for a new seed merely by editing AP.json, and do not assume a second extracted game folder provides a separate save.
- Play connected and verify checks on the room tracker before closing. The client reconciles saved locations and received items, but this review does not establish durable delivery of every check made during a disconnection. Separate sessions are supported by keeping the same room and slot available, not by treating the game as fully offline.
- Panludia inspected the published APWorld, Windows archive and selected tagged source paths without executing the game. The source save writer validates a backup before replacing the main file; this does not prove room isolation or guarantee recovery from every interruption. No completed playthrough or binary safety certification is claimed.
