How the game changes

  • Filming monsters and artifacts, buying shop items and hats, reaching view milestones and quotas, completing sponsorships and finding Chorbies provide check categories. Options control several categories and extra monster sightings.
  • Received items include equipment, money, Meta Coins, progressive camera, oxygen, stamina and view upgrades, plus diving-bell recharging capabilities. Optional monster and ragdoll traps add disruptive rewards.
  • The default Viral Sensation goal asks for one million views within a single quota. Alternative goals target lifetime views, completed quotas, filmed monster types or purchased hats. When multiple goals are enabled, all must be completed.
  • Choose a quota count, view target and collection targets to shape the campaign. Keep at least one goal enabled and enable the matching views or quota checks when using those goals; incompatible combinations are not a recommended preset.
  • Multiplayer mode includes checks that depend on other players, including Weeping. Leave it disabled for solo play. The client also synchronizes selected shared lobby upgrades and broadcasts check notifications.
  • The mod ensures at least one Chorby spawns on each dive. Optional DeathLink sends a shared death when the underground crew is wiped out, rather than for every individual teammate's death.
Explore game mechanics

Before you start

  • Use content_warning.apworld 1.0.1 for generation and ContentWarningArchipelago 1.0.6 from Thunderstore for the game. The separate world and client have different version numbers; the client's GitHub tag only provides source archives.
  • The current Thunderstore guide recommends a mod manager with BepInExPack 5.4.2100 and MyceliumNetworking 1.0.14. Run modded, connect from the main-menu Archipelago panel with your exact slot name, then host a new game. This review covers Windows, not native Linux or macOS.
  • Stay connected when earning checks. The client records checks locally before its asynchronous server send, skips already-recorded checks and does not replay that local list during login. A connection interruption can therefore leave a check recorded locally but missing from the room; a HUD notification is not server confirmation.
  • Keep DeathLink off if you need predictable surface behaviour. Although the option text describes delayed surface deaths, the reviewed incoming handler immediately kills a living local player without that surface guard. This discrepancy is from source inspection, not an independent runtime test.
  • The maintainer reports occasional multiplayer visual desynchronization of items and UI overlays. Shared lobby synchronization does not establish that every combination of co-op slots or late joins has been tested.
  • Back up game and Archipelago save data before changing seeds or reinstalling. Local progress is stored separately by sanitized player name and seed. Corrupt local data can be replaced with a fresh ledger, and item delivery is not an atomic exactly-once transaction. Keep connection configuration private.
  • Follow the current Thunderstore instructions rather than the older packaged setup document, which contains stale links and option descriptions. Panludia has inspected the published files and relevant source but has not independently completed a campaign with these builds.
