How the game changes
- Overworld pickups, shops and enemy drops join the item pool; many missable or minor checks are excluded from progression by default.
- Configure starting equipment, optional enemy randomization and which areas can contain progression.
- The bundled APWorld adds customizable boss goals and DeathLink amnesty.
- The 4.x client separates saves by seed and provides in-game chat, connection status and reconnect controls.
Before you start
- Use the current fswap client and maintainer guide, not the older 3.x setup still linked from some Archipelago pages. The documented game version is 1.15.2.
- Some new options require the APWorld bundled with this client. Generate the local randomizer data before launching the modded game.
- Optional enemy randomization can create broken encounters or crashes. The maintainer documents disabling it while preserving item placements.
- Linux has a dedicated package, but the static randomizer requires .NET under plain Wine. Public Linux startup reports remain open; support is documented, not independently tested here.
- Use the supplied ModEngine3 launcher and its offline game protections. Do not treat this as ordinary online Souls co-op.
