How the game changes

  • Shuffle door access, spells, weapons, life seeds and other pickups across the multiworld.
  • Choose the Lord of Doors, all seven Ancient Tablets or the Green Tablet's planted-pot requirement as your objective.
  • Adjust starting weapon, day/night state, soul income, required planted pots and optional extra health or magic shards.
  • Coupled or decoupled entrance randomization changes connections between areas. Optional enemy randomization is controlled in the game settings.
  • DeathLink, faster item delivery and cutscene skipping are available. Existing AP saves can reconnect for later sessions.

Before you start

  • Use both plugins.zip and deaths_door.apworld from client release v0.3.3. The current APWorld asset reports version 0.3.3 and requires Archipelago 0.6.7; its bundled README still says 0.6.3+, so follow the stricter manifest requirement. The older v0.2.1 world still linked in parts of the README has a reported 0.6.7 import failure.
  • The packaged APWorld source declares Extra Vitality Shards with the same internal name and display label as Extra Magic Shards. A generated player template was not available to confirm that both controls are exposed separately.
  • Install BepInEx 5, not 6. The release's plugin bundle includes required and recommended dependencies; start a new save in Archipelago mode and enter the room details there.
  • The maintainer calls this a playable beta with possible rare crashes and explicitly places the project on hiatus. No date is promised for further fixes.
  • For a conservative first game, leave entrance/enemy randomization off. Version 0.3.3 fixes their previously impossible Lord of Doors ending, but an older general crash report remains open.
  • Keep early_important_item enabled in small multiworlds. Removing too many randomized pools or demanding too many life seeds can cause generation failures.
  • Advanced glitch options assume specific player techniques. Linux/macOS APWorld-copy instructions do not establish game-mod compatibility; only the Windows player setup is listed.
