Drova - Forsaken KinArchipelago randomizer mod
Explore Drova while discoveries and quests send rewards across a multiworld. Configure which kinds of loot become checks, choose your faction and receive equipment, supplies and character upgrades. The published version has deliberately limited progression logic.

How the game changes
- Chests, ordinary containers and quests are enabled by default. Optional categories include resources, wildlife, hidden caches, loose pickups, purchases and NPC muggings; enabling everything makes a much longer campaign.
- Choose Nemeton or the Remnants before generation. Faction-specific quests and traders follow that choice, so join the matching faction in game.
- Items include equipment, supplies, keys, flow abilities, experience, learning points and permanent upgrades. Consumable stack sizes and additional quest-material supplies are configurable.
- Optional kill and teacher-learning milestones add checks. Receiving an attribute upgrade from Archipelago does not itself count as learning from a teacher.
- Cave connections and rune solutions can be shuffled. Normal cave shuffling preserves two-way links and excludes selected story entrances; these are exploration options, not a comprehensive progression model.
- Reach an outro to complete the goal. Optional DeathLink shares deaths, and the F7 panel shows per-area check progress. The published presets provide a chest-focused starting point or a broader collection run.
Before you start
- Use the Windows Steam game with MelonLoader IL2CPP 0.7.3 and the separate Drova Modding API 0.5.4 or newer. Install the mod's Mods and UserLibs folders into the game directory, and the matching drova.apworld into Archipelago 0.6.7 or newer. Linux support was not established by this review.
- This page describes release 0.4.0, not unreleased changes on the main development branch. In particular, the newer knockout-style DeathLink setting is not part of this reviewed release.
- Most checks are treated as reachable from the start by the generator. Only selected key requirements are modeled. Normal mode keeps native keys and protected quest items, but this is not a fully gated progression randomizer or a guarantee against every softlock.
- Leave Carnage disabled for a normal campaign: it removes important loot protections and broadens entrance shuffling. The maintainer explicitly allows unfinishable seeds in that mode; adding other players does not guarantee a solution to a circular dependency.
- Start with a backed-up, dedicated save. The inspected client stores AP identity and item progress inside the native save, checks for seed/slot mismatches and retries pending work. This is source evidence, not a demonstrated guarantee across crashes or every disconnected-play path.
- Room settings, including the password, are stored in plaintext in UserData/ArchipelagoDrova/config.json. Do not share that file or include it in public reports. Use the F7 panel instead of posting connection commands with passwords.
- For a first run, keep optional bulk categories and teacher milestones conservative. Attribute milestone count multiplied by its interval must fit the points you can actually learn; the option ranges alone do not ensure this.
- The release and selected source paths were reviewed without running a complete game. Backtracking, merchant faction assignments, consumable balance and reconnect behavior still benefit from playtesting. Native shared-save co-op is not established.
