Final Fantasy I Pixel RemasterArchipelago randomizer mod

Take the original Final Fantasy through a multiworld journey: treasure chests and NPC rewards send checks, while key items, equipment and optional class promotions arrive from other games. Keep familiar geography or shuffle your route through towns and dungeons.

Setup & releases

Choose the documented game and integration versions and follow the original installation instructions.

Compatibility notes

  • This listing is for the Steam Pixel Remaster, not the NES ROM randomizer or a different Final Fantasy edition. Install the mod and APWorld supplied together in release 0.6.3; the world manifest declares world 0.6.0 and Archipelago 0.6.3 or newer.
  • Use BepInEx 6.0.0-pre.2 for Unity IL2CPP Windows x64, initialize it with one game launch, then copy FF1PRAP into BepInEx/plugins. A BepInEx 5 or Mono package is not the documented installation.
  • The bundled setup guide documents Steam Deck and Linux through Proton and the winhttp override. This is an upstream installation route, not an independent Panludia playtest of the current game build or every Proton version.
  • Copy exactly one ff1pr.apworld into the appropriate Archipelago custom-world directory. The maintainer specifically warns against double-click installation and duplicate world copies. Generate a fresh template from that package.
  • Select Archipelago mode at the title screen, enter the exact room slot and connect before starting a new game. Keep a separate AP save and back up ordinary saves before installing the mod.
  • Since 0.6.0, session data is embedded in saves and recorded checks are resent after loading. Keep the accompanying Randomizer data directory with backups too. Resume the same campaign and reconnect if the connection is lost; this does not guarantee arbitrary offline play or save switching is safe.
  • Leave Remember Password disabled if you do not want room credentials stored in local session and save data. Do not share these files or diagnostic logs without checking for private information.
  • Recent releases correct ship placement, hanging event scripts and a canoe script firing near the ship. Use the current package rather than an older setup pinned by a third-party list.
  • No DeathLink option or native co-op is implemented in the reviewed options. Each player controls a solo party connected to the multiworld. Public player feedback is sparse, and Panludia has not independently completed a campaign.
