How the game changes
- Chests, selected NPC rewards, boss rewards and eating each bug for the first time send checks. Optional sliding puzzles add their rewards to the pool.
- Guns, spells, bug equipment and upgrades become multiworld items. The Workshop Key can be shuffled, left unchanged or available from the start.
- Choose defeating Myzand in his forest or collecting the Eye Fragment. The six-eye door follows received Myzand gun upgrades rather than the number of defeated Ridge bosses.
- Normal and hard logic change the resources expected for combat. Separate advanced-parkour and well-light settings control movement and darkness assumptions.
- Open the City route early, discount eligible shops, shuffle bug-eating effects or guarantee an early gun and spell. DeathLink is supported and accounted for by the world logic.
- Randomizer saves use a separate bank. A pause-menu return to Lost Swamp provides a recovery route from awkward geometry.
Before you start
- Select the game's randomizer beta in Steam, not the ordinary game branch. Confirm RANDOMIZER appears in the title-screen version before creating a run; the Steam client and APWorld have separate version labels.
- Install the published APWorld and use its current YAML. The template requests Archipelago 0.6.7 even though the archive manifest declares a lower minimum.
- A dark screen after loading an AP save means the game is waiting for its connection. Use /connect in the console window opened with the game, supplying the room address and slot name.
- The early-gun-and-spell option may conflict with manually planned gun or spell placements. Shop discounts do not cover gun upgrades or Supa purchases.
- Some README descriptions predate Workshop Key shuffling. The released options are the reference for those mechanics; the original Steam announcement's branch number is not a current client-version guarantee.
- In-game hinting and some chat functions require the separate Archipelago Text Client. Linux, fully offline play and shared-world co-op are not established by the reviewed setup.
