Half-Life (Sven Backport)Archipelago randomizer mod
Turn retail Half-Life into a mission-based multiworld, with weapon unlocks, a hub, trackers and saved warp points. Release 0.3.1 adds optional owned Opposing Force and Blue Shift campaigns; each included finale must be completed.
The release table defines 413 addressable checks across three campaigns. Default settings omit the opening tram ride and both expansions, leaving 245 Half-Life checks. The table has 122 Half-Life charger/healing entries; the Chargesanity prose reports a different total, so this page follows the itemized table.
Actions and milestones that can send a check to your multiworld.
413 locationsDefault marks checks from configurations selected by standard options; the generated set can still vary with logic and seed.

Known scope and limitations
Evaluated release v0.3.1, published October 2, 2026, contains World 0.3.0 and requires Archipelago 0.6.7+. Select Half-Life in YAMLs and the Launcher; the upstream now calls this retail variant Half-Life Trilogy.
Requires the current Steam anniversary Half-Life on Windows, not steam_legacy, WON or Xash. Optional Opposing Force and Blue Shift must be installed in the same Steam library. Use Half-Life Client /install, connect it to the room, then launch with -game hlap. The installer mounts expansion files locally from those installed games.
Back up hlap/SAVE before uninstalling. Warp points are local and derived from seed/slot; they are swept on goal or uninstall. Progression unlocks rebuild from server history, but pending checks and victory lack a durable acknowledged retry path. Stay connected when completing a mission or finale.
The initial history batch restores unlocks without replaying filler or traps, including one-shot rewards received while offline. One-shot delivery is not fully protected across priority messages and process restarts. The old experimental ammo_relief option is now inert.
The native DLLs are SDK-based and the package does not include a complete licence/notice inventory. Valve permits free SDK-based distribution subject to licence conditions; this review records missing companion evidence without determining infringement. Original game/expansion assets are read from the local install; no full game or DLC archive was identified.
Source/package correspondence covers 46 readable/resource files; native DLL inspection covers PE metadata, imports and AP markers. Fourteen supplied test files contain 293 test functions, including World-specific prerequisite and generation-profile assertions, client slot-data parsing, bridge and installation contracts. No target tests, build or game were executed, and full binary correspondence was not established.
