How the game changes
- Checks: selected pickups, tools, crests, fleas, maps, resources, quests and bosses send rewards to the multiworld. Unknown-logic checks are separated from progression-bearing placement.
- Items: movement abilities, silk skills, equipment, fragments, quest and boss credits, travel unlocks, resources and optional traps. Categories can stay vanilla, enter the global pool or shuffle within their category.
- Goals: finish Act 1, Act 2 or Act 3; reach the Cursed Ending, a configured Flea Hunt target, or collect the letters needed for a Spelling Bee phrase.
- Progression feedback: an adaptive inventory page shows the selected goal, remaining letters/fleas, received boss credits and recent items. Optional map markers distinguish reachable, unreachable and unknown-logic checks.
- Release 0.5.0: revised Deep Docks, Far Fields and Underworks logic; reworked BossSanity and WishSanity progression; Silk Heart logic enabled by default; optional Steel Soul and new visual/text traps.
- Recovery and shared-room options: F4 hub return, F3 destination controls, save-bound check retransmission and optional DeathLink and other resource links. DeathLink with Steel Soul retains native permadeath.
Before you start
- Install the APWorld and game mod from the same 0.5.0 release. The packaged World requires Archipelago 0.6.7 or later; the plugin checks its exact World version. Keep an existing multiworld on matching components and back up both the native randomizer save and its .randomizerdata metadata before updating.
- Route mapping is still incomplete. Unknown checks are marked separately and excluded from progression-item placement. F4 returns to a discovered safe hub; F3 changes the recovery destination. The guide also describes an Act 2/3 switch for missed checks and cautions about unrelated warp mods.
- Classic is the default. Steel Soul ends a save on death; combining it with optional DeathLink can also make another player’s death end your save. Temporary trap recovery and cocoon protection do not remove that permadeath behavior.
- Checks and the goal are retained for reconnect, with save/room identity checks and receipt reconciliation. Native game data and mod metadata are still written separately, so recovery after an interrupted save or item effect is not fully established. Exact game/loader compatibility and in-game stability were not independently tested.
- The manual archive also includes CrestWheel and CustomMusicRandomizer; music randomization is disabled by default and reads local music. Complete dependency/resource notices and origins were not established for this archive. For a TLS-enabled AP server, use an explicit wss:// host: an unschemed host can fall back to an unencrypted connection.
