How the game changes
- World pickups, selected shops and trade rewards send checks. Ivory Bugs and Vitality Fragments can join the pool separately.
- Cat Sphere, keys, the four distinct Crest Fragments and other progression items arrive through Archipelago. These are individual abilities, not a generic progressive-item chain.
- Choose defeating the Queen, the True Ending, or collecting every enabled randomized location before the final boss.
- Hard Mode includes no-hit boss rewards and speedrun techniques such as the Garden Key skip. It is a logic setting, separate from the base game's difficulty.
- DeathLink can be off, always active or limited to boss fights, with a configurable death threshold. A separate Fast Kill option makes received damage lethal during bosses or everywhere.
- The LiveSplit component displays the actual received item and recipient, while the game's original pickup appearance may remain unchanged.
Before you start
- Install all three DLLs from the client archive into LiveSplit's Components folder, add Momodora Randomizer to the layout and enter the room details. The generator also needs momo4.apworld.
- The maintainer documents game versions 1.05b and 1.07. The client targets Windows and .NET Framework; Steam's native Linux and macOS versions are not automatically supported.
- Start from a fresh game launch and new save, then start the LiveSplit timer after entering the game. The maintainer warns that other starting conditions may crash or behave incorrectly. Reliable long-session resume is not established here.
- Received active items become usable after saving at a bell. Saving also corrects their use counts; an item appearing unusable before that is a documented limitation.
- The release archive still warns about occasional key-item-menu crashes and Fresh Spring Leaf's visual state not proving it was received. These warnings are absent from the current shorter README, so this review does not assume they are fixed.
- Dirty Shroom itself and the shop Pocket Incensory are excluded to avoid known problems. Do not assume every vanilla item location is randomized.
- The small APWorld archive has no archipelago.json manifest. Compatibility with future Archipelago 0.7 releases has not been established; use the maintainer's supported setup rather than assuming forward compatibility.
