How the game changes
- Technology unlocks become multiworld items. Completing research sends checks instead of granting the usual local set of buildings; incoming technology items control build availability.
- Resource discoveries and research-portal unlocks provide additional checks. Care packages deliver useful colony resources through the printing pod.
- Choose a goal based on completing research, launching a rocket, Home Sweet Home, the Great Escape, Cosmic Archaeology or building a monument. The client watches the corresponding achievement or construction condition.
- Planet and DLC options adapt the research and resource tables. Optional exported mod-item JSON lets the generator include technologies added by other mods; this requires matching configuration files.
- The release does not implement DeathLink; the README lists it as a planned feature.
Before you start
- Install oni.apworld from release v0.9.11 on the Archipelago generator. Extract the paired 7z mod archive into the game’s mods/Local directory, enable it in the game and restart. Generate the player YAML and room, then configure the exact host, slot and optional password in the mod settings. Windows installation is documented; mod behavior on other operating systems has not been established here.
- The mod declares game build 587362 as its minimum and API version 2. The APWorld declares Archipelago 0.6.4 as its minimum. These metadata bounds are not an independently tested compatibility matrix.
- The tagged source differs from the published APWorld and mod. This review also inspected the released Python files and selected compiled client methods; an exact matching complete source revision and reproducible build were not established.
- Base-game research naming differs between World data and the released client for several rocket-research groups. The World also contains planet-dependent logic and option-fallback inconsistencies. Static review does not establish every configuration as completable, including DLC configurations.
- The World uses final research-region access as its completion model for all goals, while the client checks separate selected achievements or monument completion. These prerequisites are not represented identically.
- Use a dedicated save for each room and retain backups. A differing room seed produces a log warning but does not reject the connection. Offline checks and delayed care packages lack complete recovery and save-identity guarantees.
- For encrypted room connections, enter an explicit wss:// address supported by the server. A bare host can fall back from encrypted to unencrypted transport. The room password is also stored in the mod’s configuration; exclude it when sharing diagnostic files.
- The source includes an MIT license and several dependency notices, but the downloaded mod archive does not include corresponding standalone license files. No game assembly or proprietary game-asset bundle was identified in that archive. Downloads remain with the maintainer.
