COMMUNITY INTEGRATION

Pinball FXArchipelago randomizer mod

Turn your table collection into a multiworld challenge. Score milestones send checks while table-mode licenses and scoring assistance arrive from other worlds, without increasing your official leaderboard scores.

How the game changes

  • The reviewed package covers 140 tables. Select only tables you own and want to play, then choose six to 140 for generation, with ten as the default. Three starting tables each receive two enabled modes.
  • Classic and Time Challenge modes are included by default. One Ball, Flips and Distance challenges are separate optional additions, each with its own table-specific unlock items.
  • Low, Mid and High score targets send checks for each selected table and mode. Very High is optional and off by default. Adding tables, modes and that final score tier expands the location pool substantially.
  • The default goal collects fifteen of twenty Shiny Quarters, unlocks a selected final table and reaches its High Classic score target. Shiny Quarter Hunt instead finishes when the required quarter count is received.
  • Required and total quarters are adjustable. The generator limits total quarters relative to the configured table count and reduces the required count if it exceeds the total.
  • Score requirements can use one percentage across all tables or randomize separately per table. The range is fifty to four hundred percent, defaulting to one hundred. Higher settings assume much stronger pinball skills.
  • Table- and mode-specific Score Multiplier and Target Score Discount items each apply a five-percent adjustment to the client's check calculation. They do not increase the score submitted to the game's leaderboard.
  • Half of eligible filler becomes useful score items by default. Six optional visual traps can replace some of the remainder, with frequency, weights and duration configurable. Traps are off by default.
  • The client displays target scores and assigned assistance for each table. Universal Tracker can be embedded when installed; the original generation YAML is not required for that tracker view.

Before you start

  • This is the current Pinball FX Steam application, not Pinball FX Classic, FX3, Midnight or VR. The documented client requires Windows and Archipelago 0.6.7 or later.
  • You must own and install every selected table. The default selection includes all supported tables and does not detect your purchases. Disable unowned DLC before generating; an AP unlock is not a license to paid content.
  • At least six tables are required. The maintainer warns that fewer than ten combined with restrictive options can occasionally fail generation. Start with ten or more eligible tables when possible.
  • Install pinball_fx.apworld, launch Pinball FX to the main menu, then open Pinball FX Client and connect the correct room and slot. Wait for the process-found message and consult its Pinball FX tab.
  • No separate mod archive is needed. The client observes live scores and applies its own eligibility rules; physically opening a table in the game does not make its checks available before receiving the mode unlock.
  • The guide identifies a 102,123,008-byte PinballFX-Win64-Shipping.exe and its SHA-256. It explicitly expects game updates to break compatibility until the client is updated. Check the maintainer's current setup if attachment stops working.
  • The release is dated August 1, 2026, but its reviewed APWorld asset was replaced on August 17. The tag's source snapshot does not contain the current world directory; use the attached APWorld and the linked pinball_fx source branch, not the automatically generated source ZIP as an installer.
  • Target scores are derived from recorded leaderboard benchmarks and generation settings, not a promise of equal difficulty across every table. Values above one hundred percent and Very High checks may be impractical for casual players.
  • Useful score adjustments apply to normal AP checks. The final-table goal compares the unmodified score against its High target, so do not rely on earlier discounts to finish it. Play the prescribed Classic mode for the intended goal.
  • Keep the client connected while playing and resume the same room and slot. Historical leaderboard scores and disconnected runs are not established as automatically imported checks. Panludia has not independently completed a current campaign; no DeathLink or shared-table co-op is added.
