Compatibility notes
- Install both APWorld 1.0.0 and the AP-compatible PsychoRando 2.1.0 mod, plus Astralathe. The ordinary standalone randomizer is not a substitute.
- Each room generates a RandoSeed.lua that must be copied into the mod's Scripts folder. Start a fresh save for that seed and connect the dedicated Psychonauts Client.
- The client needs the correct game root_directory; Windows backslashes must be escaped when entered in the documented YAML setting.
- Linux/Steam Deck uses the Windows game under Proton. Astralathe explicitly does not support Psychonauts' native Linux port.
- The guide warns of crashes when switching windows during loading/cutscenes and when entering Gloria's Theater. Pause before switching away and manually save before entering that mind.
- The guide recommends disabling Astralathe's Use Steam setting to avoid premature achievements and cloud-save conflicts. Avoid unverified extra mods, especially chaos effects that can break logic; replace the old mod folder cleanly when updating.
