Rift WizardArchipelago randomizer mod
Build your spellbook with skill points supplied by the multiworld. Mana Dot pickups send checks, while deaths restart the roguelike run without erasing the Archipelago rewards you have already earned.

How the game changes
- The three Mana Dot pickups on each floor become Archipelago locations. The full Mordred goal offers seventy-five such checks; a shorter floor goal limits them to the floors before your destination.
- Received Mana Dots grant one skill point each. Double Mana Dots grant two and can replace part of the ordinary pool, making more spell-building resources available across repeated attempts.
- Defeating Mordred on floor twenty-five is the default goal. Alternatively finish by reaching a selected floor from eleven to twenty-five, which shortens the run and its location pool.
- Difficulty changes the amount of received mana assumed by placement logic per floor: Easy expects three, Medium two and Hard one. Easy is the default. This is a resource expectation, not an enemy-stat difficulty slider.
- Optional consumable checks replace periodic consumable pickups, with up to twenty extra locations. The step option defaults to ten ordinary pickups between replacement checks. Received Consumable items give a random consumable.
- Traps can replace part of the pool while preserving the mana required by logic. They use Mordred's corruption effect. Both traps and extra consumable checks are off by default.
- After death, start another run with the skill points already received through Archipelago. Previously checked pickups do not produce new rewards. AP-granted consumables are granted again as random consumables; ordinary consumables from the failed run are not retained.
- Optional DeathLink ends the current attempt when a remote death is applied and sends your own death to linked players. /deathlink toggles it in the client and /resync requests item synchronization.
Before you start
- This is the first Rift Wizard, not Rift Wizard 2. The maintained setup explicitly targets Windows Steam. Linux Archipelago host binaries attached to the release do not establish Linux game-mod compatibility.
- Install the 1.3.1 APWorld and the separate 1.3.0 ArchipelagoMod, plus AAA_Loader. The world release entry retains a 2023 publication date, while its current world asset and the updated companion were uploaded in April 2025. Check the actual files rather than assuming the release date is the asset-build date.
- The update targets Archipelago 0.6.1 or later. Older game-mod versions can crash at startup with the newer client. Keep the reviewed world and companion together; do not replace only one with an old package.
- Point riftwizard_options.root_directory at the nested RiftWizard directory containing RiftWizard.exe, not its parent Steam library folder. Put ArchipelagoMod under mods and AAA_Loader.py inside mods/AAA_Loader, preserving those exact folder names.
- Connect Riftwizard Client to the room and slot before launching the game. The mod waits on the client's local connection settings and shows a blocking message while they are absent. Playing disconnected is not a supported fallback.
- Use the same save and slot when continuing. The bridge separates data using the slot's generated identifier, but shares one active settings file and game installation; do not run multiple clients against it or switch rooms while the game remains open.
- Back up saves and the mod's AP data before changing campaigns. /clearcache deliberately purges cached seed data and requires restarting the client; it is not a harmless first troubleshooting step for a run you want to keep.
- The mod replaces core game functions and disables Steam statistics/achievement submission hooks. Compatibility with additional gameplay mods is not guaranteed despite the guide's general compatibility note.
- A generous mana setting does not guarantee an easy or balanced run: procedural floors, spell choices and player skill still matter. Public independent reports are limited and Panludia has not independently completed the current package.
