Setup & releases

Choose the documented game and integration versions and follow the original installation instructions.

Compatibility notes

  • Use release 0.1.5 with its si-modding-v0.1.5-hf1.zip package and paired APWorld. The release adds shared island-shard victory tracking, a World-version check and a reduced-goal quota; hf1 addresses the connection UI not showing. The APWorld requires Archipelago 0.6.7 or newer and the package includes BepInEx 5.4.23.4.
  • On Windows, extract the package and run its installer against SpiritIsland.exe. Install the APWorld in custom_worlds, choose goals through the local Archipelago options page, export YAML and generate/host the room. Connect in the game window using room, slot and password; F8 toggles the window. For online co-op, the maintainer says all participants should use the same AP slot.
  • Choose at least one victory goal and only spirits, aspects, adversaries and expansions available in your owned digital game. The default is Habsburg Mining Expedition with Rampant Green (Regrowth) at level 0. Higher-level wins also satisfy lower targets, and island_shards_reduction lets you omit part of the chosen set. Advanced goal levels 7–10 and an empty goal set are accepted by options but unsupported by the generated location/goal model; avoid them.
  • Minor/major cards unlock through items and send checks when used. Optional spirit/aspect shards, stat offsets, temporary elements, revealed rewards and priority shuffling change progression. When an aspect goal is selected while its base spirit is locked, the reviewed World can omit the parent-spirit prerequisite; inspect that combination rather than assuming the release fixes cover every access rule.
  • DeathLink now broadcasts a lost or abandoned board session, but the reviewed receive callback does nothing. Treat it as sending losses to other enabled slots, not two-way game loss handling.
  • Remain connected when collecting checks and use a fresh game process before reconnecting or changing rooms. The client stores offline checks in a queue that its reconnect path does not drain, while full item history can be counted again against existing modifiers. Keep board-save backups: native saves and cached scouting/unlocks are not bound to an AP seed/slot.
  • Proton scripts are supplied, but the packaged shell files use Windows line endings and the installer/uninstaller have directory, asset-copy and working-directory limits. No Proton session was independently validated. Both uninstallers remove the entire BepInEx folder; preserve other mods and prefer the plugin's General / DisableMod setting for temporary disabling. The old DisableAllMods guidance does not match the current plugin setting.
  • The password is masked and not saved by the mod. Use an explicit wss:// room address when the host supports TLS to avoid automatic plaintext fallback. AP data-cache safeguards and complete mod/dependency redistribution notices remain incomplete; the bundled loader DLLs match official bytes and no playable game/DLC assets were identified.
