How the game changes

  • Place letters on a 15 by 15 board. Valid words earn points, bonus squares multiply letter or word values, and longer aligned placements earn additional points.
  • Receive individual letters or packs of five, extra turns and bonus squares. The default merged pool sends 19 letter packs, nine bonus-square packs and ten extra turns.
  • The published World defaults to a 200-point goal and a 250-point final check. Both thresholds are configurable from 160 to 777; the goal is capped at the final-check score.
  • Current score, next check, remaining turns, tile supply and goal are visible in the browser. Reset Board restores the received tile supply and turn budget for another scoring attempt.
  • The hosted client offers English, German, Spanish and French word lists. The older Website5.zip entry point always loads English despite showing a language selector.

Before you start

  • Install waterywords.apworld from v0.1.0 on the generator, generate its YAML template and create the room. Open the linked browser game, then enter the server address, exact slot name and optional room password. The bundled tutorial describes Yacht Dice and is not an accurate guide for this game.
  • This review covers the published APWorld and browser archive plus the hosted entry point captured on 22 September 2026. The hosted page contains small language-selection and address-input fixes absent from Website5.zip; it is not byte-identical to that archive.
  • Use an explicit wss:// server address when the server supports secure WebSockets. Without a scheme, the bundled network library can fall back from encrypted to unencrypted WebSockets.
  • Keep the browser connected during play. Board state is not saved across page reloads, and the inspected client has no automatic reconnect or durable pending-check queue. A new connection can receive items again, but this is not a restore of the previous board.
  • The World estimates reachable scores from item counts. The on-screen logic indicator uses different constants from the published World, so it is not an exact statement of generation logic or a guarantee that a score is reachable with the current letters.
  • Use the current linked entry point. The release ZIP includes older experimental HTML pages, including a page that inserts server-provided item names into HTML without escaping. They are outside the recommended setup.
  • The bundled library sends its version and browser user-agent string to the connected Archipelago server for diagnostics by default. No independent game session or browser compatibility matrix was executed for this review.
