  • Items: Region unlocks, progressive combat/gear limits, Nothing filler and four configurable traps.
  • Goals: Reach a chosen combat level, complete a named dungeon or finish a selected quest.
  • Options: Check families, starting route, equipment modes, level increments, region enforcement, traps and optional DeathLink.
  • Update: APWorld 0.4.7 adds secret discoveries and revised region links/levels; client 0.4.11 fixes filters and chat colors.

Before you start

  • Use APWorld 0.4.7 with Wynnpelago 0.4.11. The APWorld release requires client 0.4.10+; the client is marked beta on Modrinth even though its GitHub release is not a prerelease. The reviewed target is Minecraft Java 1.21.11, Fabric loader 0.19.1+, Java 21+, Fabric API and Wynntils 4.2.x.
  • A paid Minecraft Java account and access to the online Wynncraft server are required. Install the Fabric mod and dependencies, create a fresh character, generate a new multiworld with the matching APWorld, then use /archipelago connect. The pinned Wynnpelago README is the setup reference; the APWorld still contains a copied APQuest overview and incomplete setup text.
  • The default level-30 objective has 196 checks: 77 territories, 38 caves, 29 quests, 28 level milestones, 17 secret discoveries, four dungeons and three mini-quests. Check families and the goal change that count. Secret discoveries are new in APWorld 0.4.7; corrupted dungeons are disabled by default.
  • Progressive level limits depend on Wynncraft guild XP allocation. Without guild membership, the same cap enforcement is unavailable. Gear locks may be unified, split by type/rarity or disabled. The starting route and extra level/gear copies reduce early shortages; very small check pools can be rejected during generation.
  • Locked-region enforcement can issue /kill immediately or after a configurable countdown; lenient mode is available. Traps can freeze movement, disable attacks, obscure the screen or issue /kill. Traps default to 50% of remaining filler, with timed effects lasting 15 seconds; set their percentage/weights explicitly for the intended group. DeathLink is disabled by default.
  • Version 0.4.11 fixes item-send/connection filters and adjusts chat colors. The client also provides map/territory overlays, /wynnpelago version and /wynnpelago resync. Resync reads combat levels and completed quests, mini-quests, caves and discoveries; it does not rescan completed dungeons.
  • Pending offline checks are held in memory rather than a room-bound save. Reconnection resets client unlock counters without a complete delivery-replay reconciliation, and victory has no persistent resend queue. After an interruption, confirm unlocks/checks and the room goal state; some content may need resync or replay. No gameplay session was run for this review.
  • Avoid placing a sensitive room password in shared screenshots or command history. The bundled AP library can downgrade a bare-address WSS attempt to WS; use an explicit WSS host where supported. The client does not bind a room to a particular Wynncraft character and can fall back to current data for an unknown World version, so keep this pair and one fresh character together.
  • The reviewed archives contain code, libraries and content metadata rather than the game itself. The client source is MIT and attributes its mod icon separately, but complete legal notices are absent from the APWorld and several nested libraries. This is a documentation limit. Twelve distinct World test functions are supplied; client recovery tests were not found and no upstream tests were executed.
