XCOM 2: War of the ChosenArchipelago randomizer mod
Research and tactical milestones send multiworld rewards while incoming tech unlocks, equipment upgrades and optional class promotions reshape your campaign. Choose the final assault, the Network Tower or one to three Chosen strongholds as the goal. Optional Itemsanity, Ranksanity, DLC checks and mod adapters expand the catalog; progression tracks and enemy replacements depend on your seed settings.

How the game changes
- 286 possible rewarded checks across base, DLC and optional adapters; defaults enable 69 research and enemy-kill checks. Five goal events are separate from rewards.
- 195 possible item types include research unlocks, optional class promotions, progressive equipment/hunt tracks, resources, upgrades, personnel and eight optional traps.
- Five goals: final Alien Fortress assault, ADVENT Network Tower, or one, two or three Chosen strongholds. Harder post-goal checks can remain locked to local filler.
- Forty-two exposed settings include DLC, sanity modes, progressive splitting, filler weights, enemy shuffle, incoming Death Link chance and campaign pacing. Three named enemy-only presets are available.
Before you start
- Reviewed World, bundled Python client and game mod are 1.0.0. The World manifest minimum is Archipelago 0.6.4, but the distributed YAML requires 0.6.8; use 0.6.8 or newer for that template.
- Progressive Gun’s late stages can be shuffled per seed. Split tracks and Long War change the stage sets; the catalog’s marked shuffled stages are not a promised fixed order.
- Research unlocks and rewarded research checks are separate. Resistance Communications and Resistance Radio stay normal research and are excluded from this reward/item catalog.
- Strategy items arrive in the strategy layer and tactical traps in tactical play. The default day-one/turn-one protections ignore matching early traps; optional traps can threaten the campaign.
- Long War of the Chosen disables unsupported mission skipping and Enemy Rando, replaces certain research/check mappings and extends promotion tracks. Its catalog cannot simply be added to an unchanged vanilla campaign.
- The optional Flame Viper autopsy definition has an inconsistent normal_item key in the inspected World source. No complete addon runtime validation or reconstruction of the compiled Unreal packages was performed.
- 32 World members and 57 game-mod source/config members match their tags after line-ending normalization; localization differs by encoding only. Static manager probes establish counts and selected transformations, not a completed campaign or native compatibility guarantee.
