Ys I ChroniclesArchipelago randomizer mod
This PC alpha replaces chest, gift, field, boss and first-shop rewards with multiworld checks, while received equipment, keys and quest items populate the game inventory. Darm Tower access depends on specific gear and books in the World’s logic. The released source also exposes incomplete goal reporting, category-toggle paths and a Mirror/Wing mapping difference; those limits are described alongside the relevant mechanics.

How the game changes
- 72 default checks: 59 chest/gift/field/boss flag records and thirteen first-purchase shop rewards. Repeat shop purchases follow a different native path.
- 52 individual item types with no ordered progressives. Default pool uses 47 initial copies plus 25 consumable fillers; there is no AP gold item or trap type.
- The three declared goals have different World reachability/inventory predicates, while automatic goal detection is disabled in the reviewed native source.
- Thirteen schema settings include category switches, starting swords and Python-client multipliers/Death Link. Declared boss-order randomization is not wired into this World.
Before you start
- Published 0.1.0 alpha for the PC Windows Steam executable. The manifest minimum is 0.5.0, but the supplied YAML and DLL protocol use Archipelago 0.6.6; use 0.6.6 or newer for this setup. Ys II is outside this release.
- The native goal function returns false unconditionally, with its intended boss logic disabled while the Dark Fact memory flag is unresolved. The Python client has a separate goal path using that flag; no completed slot has been independently validated here.
- Category switches remove items while keeping item access requirements and most checks. Equipment, keys or quest items off make the goal unreachable in source constructions with all generated items; the native DLL does not receive category-restoration switches.
- Boss Checks off leaves completion referring to an omitted Dark Fact location and causes a slot-data lookup for an omitted boss. Shops off similarly causes an omitted Pim’s Shop lookup. These are construction findings, not claims from a live playthrough.
- Mirror and Wing map to opposite game IDs in the World/Python and the released native dispatcher. The binary item records were checked directly. The Southern Roda Tree has a reverse polling flag, but native initialization treats its nonzero flag as already checked without a reverse exception.
- Boss Randomization is declared but unconsumed. EXP/gold scaling and Death Link code belong to the Python client; the native DLL source only parses goal and the tower-item guard list.
- Back up the original steam_api.dll before installing the supplied proxy. The maintainer reports separate area tests but no full run. Fixed memory addresses, source constructions and matched package records do not establish compatibility or successful runtime delivery.
