How the game changes

  • Play Adventure, Gauntlet or both. Choose which stages and boards enter the pool, how many are selected and the highest Gauntlet difficulty.
  • Clear levels and sections, collect coins, make gap shots, build chains and combos, and optionally beat Ace Time targets to send checks.
  • Receive board and stage unlocks, scoring abilities for each section, Progressive Difficulty and Progressive Lives. Unlock information and counters appear in the separate client.
  • Collect Sun Idols to open a chosen Space or random-section goal. Additional idols reduce the goal challenge through score requirements or extra Gauntlet levels.
  • Useful effects and traps can change lives, score, ball colors or speed. DeathLink is optional; the reviewed toggle command has a limitation described below.
Explore game mechanics

Before you start

  • The maintainer targets the English Steam game on Windows. Other languages and editions are not supported by the guide. A precise compatible executable revision is not identified.
  • The downloaded APWorld declares version 0.1.9 under release tag zuma-deluxe-v0.1.8-b. Two Python files and its version manifest differ from the tagged source; this review includes those distributed differences.
  • Install the APWorld in Archipelago and use its Zuma Deluxe Client alongside the game. The guide links to room generation instructions but does not document the Pymem dependency needed by the client.
  • Back up your game profile before playing. The client changes the running game’s temple unlocks and has no separate progress identity for each seed or slot. Close and restart the client before changing rooms.
  • The client displays which sections are available; it does not stop you opening other sections in the game. Static review found an inconsistent Gauntlet difficulty guard and a mismatch between documented goal prerequisites and the World completion rule.
  • Avoid combining a small stage selection with a large Sun Idol count. The options describe a cap, but the reviewed item-pool code does not apply it and can produce more items than locations.
  • The reviewed code has gaps in retaining checks across disconnection and applying item effects safely across restarts or room changes. Keep the client connected while playing; this review does not establish recovery guarantees.
  • The DeathLink toggle command changes a different field from the one used by gameplay. Select the desired DeathLink setting before generating the room. Temporary speed effects also lack guaranteed cleanup after interruption.
  • Use a wss:// room address when available and enter passwords separately from connection URLs. The inherited client also accepts plaintext connections and may log a supplied address.
